    Re: One way zener diode

The stripe goes to the signal wire. The other end goes to ground.

Re: 87 csx Lm pinouts needed

Thanks Miles!! Yeah, I've been through plenty of classroom training on Ohm's law, but I had it in my head, it was induced voltage on the signal wire from an unknown source.... Yeah....I really should...

Re: 87 csx Lm pinouts needed

Ok, I fully have to admit, I was thinking about my issue with this car incorrectly. My problem was related to the ground circuit, not the signal wire, as I first thought. I teed into the ground...

    87 csx Lm pinouts needed

In particular, the TPS return signal wire connector, pin and if possible color and gauge? Thanks in advance. I'm chasing a strange rise in TPS voltage once warm causing an erratic idle and high idle.

Re: 89 CSX No start when hot

Something I ran across with the 58mm throttle body is the only port on the top of the TB is manifold vacuum. If you have your purge solenoid hooked up, it can pull the fuel tank into a vacuum and...

    Re: Drag week 2019

At 59:20, there's very few things better than watching Mike Marra and his contraption get a little SDAC and T-M airtime, while walking away from a Jaguar.

Day 2 has a bad wreck at 1:54 and a tesla at 2:38. our heroes at 2:40, 2:46.44, 2:55.15, 3:06.30 and more. I know I'm missing some of the runs each day, but I skim through until I see our guys.

    Re: 1987 csx stumble

Not that I'm going to pursue this further, because it doesn't add to the thread, but this charged properly. On the gauge, using a dvom, on the scan tool, it hit the target and kept the battery...

    Re: 1987 csx stumble

Miles, I know 5 digits history in this community. I guess I wasn't clear enough in my question. I want to know if this failure and symptoms are normal, instead of the failure to charge.

    Re: 1987 csx stumble

5digits, I've seen many voltage regulators fail to charge, but this causing a miss fire is new to me. Do you think it's really just a faulty soldier connection?

    Re: 1987 csx stumble

Good to know standard has re-opened! I picked up a used PM today and I'll install it tomorrow, but keep the bypass switch just in case. I'll keep this updated over the next couple days.

Miles, I never actually removed the wires for the field coil, I disconnected the main output wire. I should put it back to stock for diagnostic purposes. Maybe wire in a toggle switch for diagnostics...
