it makes more reason to me .. that IF I were going to be concerned enough about clearances
then I'd want to check them AFTER an initial "run in" ..idling in gear...

if you have a trans case , input shaft , throw out bearing sleeve / seal retainer and the original front shim ..and everything is from the same transmission ,originally, you can replace the input...
