84 and 85 turbo motors got the smaller diameter , taller distributor when compared to the 86 and after dist

they only work in 84/5 cars.. likewise the later fatter shorter distributors only work...

good example in favor of simple regular old farm yard oil spray will get the end results pictured below..

it was driven most daily and oil sprayed...

re used motor oil .. don't wanna use it for rust proofing .. it stinks

as penetrating oil .. different story .. might be the acids that build up in old oil

I know 84 seats are unique
I do not know if the 84 seats have an inertia latch on the seats.. does the passenger seat flop forwards when you mash the brakes..?

some older seats have a seatback...

to add there's a 92/93 specific common block that supposedly has more meat at the mains than earlier blocks too .. so they DID go past 89 with the 2.5 - for sure

I'd be interested in a hanger bearing solution .. I've saved , for years a nice section of steel tube , maybe ten inches long and 5-6 inches round .. for a shield around or over the intermediate...
