Re: ideas on long term MTX storage

More than I do! LOL I might stuff plugs in the axle seals...maybe shop towels. They go on a moving dolly and shoved in a corner until I need it! I figure that they've been run, so everything is...

    Re: 1990 g-body BCM

There is the "standard" and the "premium". I think the '90 is unique due to the headlight controls not being integrated until '91.

    Re: Camber Adjustment

You cut the *struts* or the *springs*?

If you've lowered the car, and adjusted the camber bolts to maximum and STILL have positive camber, there's something else going on. ALL of that adds to...

For Sale Re: 89 Maserati TC 16 valve 5speed $6.000 OBO

Have you posted this on the TC forums and the Facebook page? Is the car on the TC VIN registry?

Re: Billet forward and direct drums

The thing you're paying for with true aerospace quality materials is the certifications (the stack of papers) saying that the raw materials and methods used to make the end product are approved to be...
  8. Re: when did mini van first get 5x114 hubs and drums?

The rear discs are *not* "equivalent" to the drums...hence the different proportioning valves being used and the original Shelby Charger using the disc/drum NOT having a proportioning valve is a...

Re: 91 daytona analog cluster pinout

You need the FSM for your car and the donor car. Yes, you will have a good bit of splicing to do. 1990 started a whole new wiring scheme for G/J-body cars that include a BCM (Body Control Module)....

    Re: Floor Pan Restoration

There are NO "off-the-shelf" body restoration panels for these cars. If you need to replace metal, you're either cutting it out of another car, or you're making it by hand.
  11. Re: when did mini van first get 5x114 hubs and drums?

The rear brake lock-up issue is about vehicle dynamics. There's simply not enough load on the rear of the car to take advantage of the torque being applied by the brakes (think about trying to launch...

Fuel pressure lines should be 5/16", return is 1/4".

    Congrats on the score!

    Re: Intermediate shaft machining

I expected to see numbers in the higher 60's. Based on your research, it looks like my expectations were a bit high!

I know this has been debated for a long time. Is there any actual...
  14. Re: Help from the group on engine replacement/swap

The 3.0 V6 with associated engine bay harness, ECM, mounts, etc. is a "bolt-in". If the original 4-cylinder was not turbo, then the fuel pump will need to be upgraded to the V6/Turbo unit. This will...

    Re: Intermediate shaft machining

WOW! 55-63RW is SOFT for steel! No wonder it galls so easily!

I wonder if we could have sleeves machined, then hardened to press on like the 523/543/568?

Re: Official BC Coilover Kit Development Interest.

I simply used a regular hole saw chuck and 2 saws on the same chuck. I think the inner one that fits inside the OE hole is 2.5", maybe 3"? and the outer one was whatever size I needed (4"?). This is...

    Re: CSX VNT rear brakes

As an addendum to my last post, yes, the front TC calipers are double-pin units, not single pin.

    Re: CSX VNT rear brakes

I am down with that! Having more information in the KC is always a plus!

The TC's rear calipers are exactly the same as the '87/'88 Daytona Shelby Z. The fronts I think are slightly different than...

    Re: CSX VNT rear brakes

Could be! LOL I tried finding rebuild stuff for the 11" brake calipers (front and rear) and even that was not easy, especially the rear. Again...it's not like the parts *don't* exist because clearly...

    Re: Intermediate shaft machining

I would think it would be harder to find a company to throw a single part into their nitride furnace than to get it induction hardened or coated.

    Re: CSX VNT rear brakes

I definitely agree they shouldn't be $300! That's ludicrous. What bugs me more is that if they can be rebuilt, then there's parts...but why can't I find and order the parts and rebuild them myself!?

    Re: Intermediate shaft machining

I agree...look into having it re-hardened (induction hardening...like a cam maybe?) or having DLC applied to it, which I've been considering for a while now.

    Re: CSX VNT rear brakes

I understand what you're saying, but unfortunately this isn't the case. Micky Mattack just tried yesterday to add the calipers I found on RA to his cart...can't be done. Yes, Cardone *will* rebuild...
