  2. General Re: 86 GLH-S Starter + heat shield (+ maybe engine wiring harness)

I would prefer to not drill the trans if I can avoid it. Do all of the RA starters require that? or is that just for ease of instillation over the stock stud?

I think the only reason im...
  3. General Re: 86 GLH-S Starter + heat shield (+ maybe engine wiring harness)

Perfect! One part down. As for the starter, I keep finding the same sketchy one listed everwhere. Anyone have any experience with these and/or know if they are the right size for sure?

  4. General 86 GLH-S Starter + heat shield (+ maybe engine wiring harness)

    Hey Guys,

I am looking for a decent condition 1986 GLH-S starter + the heat shield. The starter and heat shield on mine are not the OE parts and I keep cooking the wires going to the starter so I...

  6. General Re: WTB 86 GLH-S EGR System - $500 shipped to CA

Well ----! Sorry about the late replies yall. I had figured I would get and email if anyone responded so I didnrt check the thread directly until just now. I was able to source a complete set already...
  7. General WTB 86 GLH-S EGR System - $500 shipped to CA

    Hey Guys,

EGR was ripped out of my car and the state needs to see it installed to allow me to finish registration. I am interested in parts or complete system. If I can get a complete working...
  8. Re: 86' GLH-S - hard to start, rough idle when cold, low oil pressure when warm, and

Thank you for the clarification on that one guys. I was going to be shocked as hell if the intermediate shift position actual mattered (assuming it was corrected for at the distributor) for knock...
  9. Re: 86' GLH-S - hard to start, rough idle when cold, low oil pressure when warm, and

I dont honestly understand what you mean by this. Will the car run with 2 spark plug wires switched? If not, how is the #1 wire in the wrong place?

Lol, yah. Lots of guys say they will do it,...
  10. Re: 86' GLH-S - hard to start, rough idle when cold, low oil pressure when warm, and

I had just assumed this car used all imperial fasteners. Is it metric? Would be kinda nice considering all of my specialty wrenches and tools are metric. Also, good to know on the timing.

  11. Re: 86' GLH-S - hard to start, rough idle when cold, low oil pressure when warm, and

Ok, so I figured out how I can tighten it down (with the engine off, I have just barely enough room to go between fan blades with a 1/2" wrench and just have to be careful not to burn myself). I set...
  12. Re: 86' GLH-S - hard to start, rough idle when cold, low oil pressure when warm, and

I havent pulled the plugs yet. Most of my tools are burried right now so I probabaly wont get the chance to for a few days here still.

So it is entirely possible to be too advanced and be outside...
  13. Re: 86' GLH-S - hard to start, rough idle when cold, low oil pressure when warm, and

Im actualy doing it right now. I cant see the timing mark at all though (kinda suprised the engine seems to run well when warm if the timing is [i]that/i] out). Anyone mind verifying it at least...
  14. 86' GLH-S - hard to start, rough idle when cold, low oil pressure when warm, and gas

    Hey Guys,

I have been trying to find a good mechanic in my area (anywhere in socal if you have recommendations) to no avail so it looks like I have to tackle this myself. Here are my three...

    Re: SoCal SDAC Meeting

Sorry for the double post, but this seems like the best place to ask. Any mechanic recommendations in socal? I would prefer south OC if possible, but I can travel if needed.
