well if you boost the maf sensor, and keep it close to the tbody, if you blow a hose it will still read whats going into the engine as long as you don't blow the maf off...

they dont like open bov's or vacuum/boost leaks, get dirty and dont work correctly, they can be a restriction in the air flow path to the turbo.
but when they work, they measure the amount of air...

why don't you run the distributor off the cam like a hybrid?
