I would look at this next. I have had a very similar sound previously with an overtightened timing belt, the sound was almost gone when hot also.
Just my 0.02..
I swapped 89 11" front and rear onto my 94 shadow which orig had rear drums. Changed the prop valve but didn't change the master and it feels fine. May want to see for yourself before...
Was a solution ever found for this?
Ive got an intermittent Code 27 on my Shadow, happens at any throttle tho. Swapped sbec, wiggle test, inj resistance checked, inspected all pins and still...
2.5 inlet, 2 outlet. Same as the Garrett.
Not sure about the swingvalve size.
That pcv setup may cause your dipstick to hit the hood, especially if your running higher boost. Or at least mine did.
And nice shadow. I like the color choice
Looks like Rob had most of it figured out. I was able to get the ATM mode working fine on a stock ecu, but couldnt read out the codes correctly. The returned bytes would come out in different orders,...
I'm not sure what cal you used for it, but I ordered it somewhere around Feb2011, so could be what you refer to. That would then explain the switch test and maybe the infinite loop of 0x00 when I...
Rob,
Thank you! That makes sense about the error codes, I don't know why I thought it worked the other way.
Whats the difference between pending and stored? Are pending codes ones currently...
Ive read through some notes and spreadsheet regarding the DRB protocols and threads on the topics which has gotten me going (thanks to Morris, Rob, Frank for that).
Now I have more specific...
FWIW, ive got the 2.5 Clevite pistons (from mpcentral too) and Im thrilled with them. Stand up to some (just audible) detonation seemingly well actually. Run 25psi on them.
That said, I was being an...
If it is the cheaper narrowband type, yes.
If it is a wideband gauge, no.
I never knew this either, thank goodness I live north of the 49th. I really don't care for auto belts.
Thats normal. The bars are cast and soft, the bushings deform it.
Believe the ZF is a 15410 vs 15430 used on the Saginaw pumps. 2" might be a bit much to account for in the adjustment?
Also THANKS Todd. For some reason it didn't cross my mind to ditch the lower...
Yes, the brackets are different.
I think we would all like the top one, bit its 2x the price :)
Interesting to hear about the failures of the Saginaw pump, guess Ive just been lucky with them.
The ZF (plastic) pumps were found on 88-89 primarily Daytonas and possibly Shadows if memory serves. 86-87, 90-94 seem to have all been Saginaw from what I have seen.
Side note... If you can keep...
We are trying to put one of these on a 8v turbo dakota. Doesn't quite fit with the relatively tight bend we got. Originally tried the saganaw (steel reservoir) pump, swapped in the zf (plastic) w/...
What he is saying is somewhere, a harness is not properly connected to ground, not a short issue. If weird things start happening, (common ones being turn signals act backwards, turning on something...
Type F is normal stock at CanadianTire. 4.99/litre. Not overly hard to find.
IIRC The T2 rads had metal end tanks and are recore-able. We did one for my brothers car at considerable cost. The tbi/t1 later cars were all plastic. I talked to a rad shop about recoring a plastic...
as iTurbo said, unless you changed back the map sensor, the one you have installed currently is incorrect if it reads 5v without vacuum. Should read ~2.5v as you mentioned the old one did. I'd...
For the time being I've got the full 92 fsm, and all 83-96 parts catalogs hosted on my school webspace if thats of any help. Might not be there much longer as I recently graduated :) ...
Or just cracked some of it off. Wont be in there for a few days yet, but we will see. Oh what fun and excitement await.
I still think it idles as smooth as the average td out there :)
