    Re: Not starting: no fuel

Sorry guys. I just got to Texas to move into my new place in Corpus Christi, so not much is going on with cars and me. I'll update later when I get a chance. Thanks for the ideas though.

    Re: Not starting: no fuel

When switching from LM to SMEC in an L-body, do I need to run wires for the fuel pump, or will the stock L-body ones work. This is the only thing I can think of, because I tested the terminals at...

    Not starting: no fuel

I got my wiring harness put into the charger today. The car now cranks over...but after cranking over for a while, my oil pressure gauge isn't moving at all. Everything is turning over just fine,...

Re: How to tell if a block is good

The only thing I can think of is there was a section of the headgasket that was deformed, and letting combustion heat get into the water jacket. But it wasn't so bad that the seal just blew out.

Re: How to tell if a block is good

Thanks guys. that's what I thought. Should I strip everything off of it, or can I bring him an assembled shortblock?

How to tell if a block is good

I have the 88 TII shortblock from my van in the garage, and I'm wondering what to measure to determine if the crank needs to be cut and the cylinders need be bored, or if I can get away with new...

There was a gold Arizona car on ebay a little while ago...I'm not sure if it's still there. And as far as I know, it was still stock.

The hole in the t-stat goes just wehre Cordes says, and it helps prevent vapor lock behind the thermostat. It also lessens the shock to the engine when the thermostat opens.

Re: Out comes the head - need pointers

Bryan, you won't regret the braided stainless lines. I just took the engine that was in my van apart, and butchered both of the coolant lines trying to get them off, and I'm sure the oil feed line...

    Re: Another FWD Performance!

I'll most likely be ordering a few items in the next day or so when I know what I'm going to do with the shortblock from the van. You'll get another chance to put decals in :eyebrows:
  14. Re: You know you're fixing stuff when you start breaking stuff

What kind of irks me is that usually my dad is there to lend a hand, but he was at work. He most definitely would have caught it and avoided the whole situation, because he usually just makes sure...

  17. You know you're fixing stuff when you start breaking stuff

I hate when this crap happens. It looks like I disconnected everything from the engine except one thing. I missed the speedo cable. I forgot to disconnect it from the speed distance sensor, and...
