    Re: Laser XE coming back

If you look closely, I think Warren's anyway is linked to rear axle in such a way that it will push the wheel down as the rear tries to squat. It transfers load from the rear tires to the wheelie...

    Re: Laser XE coming back

What did you do to the block? Is that just smoothing the casting flash and then bead-blasting? Or is that a coating? Is it going to get an oil-shedding paint?

    Re: Laser XE coming back

I believe I can check out a sonic tester from the lab at work. I'll check next week. If I can, I'll measure the wall of the 2 Tall Deck blocks I have (supposed to be thicker) and the 2-3 common...

Warren - any updates on you car? Racing season is just around the corner ;)

Also, what do you run for water lines with the electric W/P? I'm still trying to think of ways to take weight out of my...

Are you running straps on the front end? Do you have any pics of how that is setup?

Warren - Do you still run the traction bar thing on the front swaybar? Or do you leave it dis-connected? It's one of the things I want to try and add to my car this winter to help the traction off...

    Re: Laser XE coming back

Sooo, what's the theory there? I must've missed it. I've been trying hard to get my car off the line consistently. My short times vary by 0.100 on a race weekend. Makes it impossible to dial the car....

    Re: Laser XE coming back

Was the original weighed with or without the interior trim? I'd like to trim the fat from mine as well, but it needs to look stock when I'm done. The wing will be the easiest (and the hardest - it...

    Re: Laser XE coming back

I've opened up the bias box to full pressure in the rear. The tires don't spin, I've been told I drag them. I guess I could get better tires. They are pretty small diameter (24's), and I run them at...

They do look dumb. And they don't hold in the water box. See my post above.

    Re: Laser XE coming back

I ditched the cross-split system when I converted to manual brakes. I just use an adjustable bias box. I have a line-loc on the rear, but it doesn't hold for crap. I drag the rears thru the water box...

I have up-close pictures of that shifter from long ago over on TD.com. I didn't even realize it was yours.

Once again, every single piece of this car is a work of art all by itself.

    Re: Laser XE coming back

    Very nice!

Do you think the extra wear was due to the lack of splash? Or an increase in pump load due to more oil settling in the pan?

Looks like you also turned and shot peened the OD...

    Re: Laser XE coming back

It works properly! The 2-step just doesn't hold RPM accurately enough for me. I want to get the spark-cut working, I think it will be much better for racing.

    Re: Laser XE coming back

I'm going to try and build one like it this winter. It's a little fuzzy on whether or not it's legal. Traction bars definitely ARE legal. So are torque straps. I could classify this either way to the...
