  1. Re: Microsquirt (less expensive/super compact/less feature version of megasquirt)

I actually just pulled the original wires out and ran my own wires through the grommet. With all of my extra wires, for lights and accessories, there were more than enough to refill the grommet. I...

    Re: Microsquirt

I'm just starting to install a Microsquirt on my 2.2L T2 setup, but had to buy a wideband converter kit, because Micro doesn't support wideband. That raises the price even closer to Mega, which does...

Re: Official BC Coilover Kit Development Interest.

    Rich,

It's been a long time since I was active here, but I'm looking to replace the rear springs on my Laser. You had previously sold me the beehive type, for my Daytona, but I now need something...

Re: Official BC Coilover Kit Development Interest.

There are two good methods to cut larger holes, with a holesaw. One is to bolt a block of wood to the underside of the strut tower, for the drill bit to stay centered. The best way is to put...

Re: Official BC Coilover Kit Development Interest.

I did my towers a few years ago, and used a hole saw. Now that I have a plasma cutter, I would highly recommend it, instead.

Definitely tape and cover the entire engine compartment, before...
  7. Re: 520/555 Alternative pinion bearing (HONDA bearing version)

I hate when interesting threads just go dead, but it seems that I have become one of those guys. I recently went to have the 555, with the Honda bearing conversion, built up. To my dismay, I can't...

    Re: MegaSquirt Successes Needed

My problem isn't doing wiring. That's the easy part. It's just the time that it is going to take to learn how to program, and get the tune correct. That being said, it now looks like I will have...

    Re: MegaSquirt Successes Needed

So far, I haven't seen enough positive feedback to think that it's fairly easy to make MS3 work on a 2.5. I want to try using MS3, but have no clue how to set it up, or where to get the info.
    How...

    Re: MegaSquirt Successes Needed

I am leaning toward running MS3 Pro, with a 36-1 wheel. The MAF sensor isn't a big deal, but what happens if I decide to run without the turbo connected? Wouldn't that mess up the tuning?

    I'm...

    Re: MegaSquirt Successes Needed

There hasn't been any activity for a few days, so I'm giving it a bump in hopes that someone, who has made it work, will see it.

    Re: MegaSquirt Successes Needed

This is starting to yield the information I was looking for. I still am not convinced that MS is the way to go, but and am waiting for more successes, before making a decision.

    One thing that...

    Re: MegaSquirt Successes Needed

OBDII isn't an important criteria, as Pro-M also uses a laptop for tuning. It's just one more feature that suggests that they are thinking ahead, as I don't think anyone else has it.

    Re: MegaSquirt Successes Needed

To me, this is a hobby, like building model cars was when I was a kid. I have had the opportunity to buy some bad as_ track cars, for $15 - $20K, that would be great for what I need. However,...

    Re: MegaSquirt Successes Needed

This is exactly the discussion that I was looking for, and the reason I am hesitant to try MegaSquirt. Every time I believe that I can use it, I hear of people who are frustrated with it. I don't...

    MegaSquirt Successes Needed

I am trying to decide if I should control my new 2.5L TII engine with a MegaSquirt 3, or a Pro-M Racing controller. I am leaning toward the Pro-M, even though it will end up costing around $4k, by...

Re: Daytona Track Car Spindle & Hub Upgrade

I don't recall ever seeing a bracket there. To be honest, there hasn't been one there for the last 8 years. I guess I'll have to hunt one down.

Re: G-Body Rear Motor Mount Needed?

OK, I have just finished 2 track days, with the new lower mount, and believe that this is a huge improvement over the normal rear mount. The engine isn't rocking nearly as much as it used to. I...
