I'll be sure to post my findings.
Trying to find pics of the 465 brackets (and a shot of where the hood prop rod connects to the core support....)
OK, 1983 465 trans in a turismo/Shelby clone. 2.2 NA
My son and I yanked the engine & trans (43k on it) to put in a clutch and re-seal & gasket it so it doesn't drip anymore. Got it back in /...
That avatar is my Turbo Dakota project - burned to the ground 6 yrs ago, smelled fuel, pulled over, flames erupted from under the hood - near as I can figure the fuel pressure sender from the cheap...
Thanks Jer, we've got beehives so coming up with the bees wax won't be a problem - luckily they came right out with visegrips last night. I've not ever successfully drilled out a broken bolt but have...
Thanks Todd, good point - as it's stock and carbureted I think we'll leave the 10mm bolts. It only came apart to look at the cyls while the VC gasket needed replaced and the rear main is seeping. ...
Had to get the head off first - ended up using a port-a-power to slide the head off the long stud, the short broken one (about 1" above the deck) wasn't a problem.
Added heat, soaking in Blaster,...
Well searching old threads didn't bring anything up - my son and I are working on his 83 Shelby clone, A465 trans locked a bearing so I rebuilt the trans and he's getting ready to put it back in....
if it's in a sand rail I'd suspect it gets bounced around a bit. I'd look at the HEP & wiring coming off it.
Anyone out there have a set of 4 lug mags - would prefer pizzas but anything is better than the 14" steels we've got on it right now.
Near Akron Ohio
Thanks,
Mike (& Son)
HSKR, I've got "Do it right or do it over" painted on our family's quote wall.... that being said, I happen to have a 4 wire lying around (from a jeep) and I don't have the proper 4wire plug for the...
So I keep getting an O2 code rich fault on my 2.5 T2 SMEC in my Dakota - turns out I ran the 3 wire O2 from an 88 wire harness and it's likely getting interference on the signal.
Will any NB O2...
Yeah, just got done looking at my wiring diagram. #15 & 16 show LightBlue/Red Sensor Ground and #23 is Black/DkGreen O2 sensor. I've got it hooked up with #23 to the O2, White to J2 power (ASD) and...
I think I left one of those grounds through the SMEC open. Any sources for a harness for a 4 wire O2 and new O2.
I'd rather make the one I've got now work - that being the case should I switch...
So I should run the ground to the battery rather than the block/intake manifold like it is now?
I've got a 3 wire as that's what the 1989 harness I used had.
Or should I swap in a 4 wire plug...
Ok, so I've gotten code 52 several times on my Boostbutton Cal'd SBEC in my 2.5 mitsu turbo, intercooled Dakota.
New 3wire O2 (NTK) now has 6k miles on it.
Is there a reading I can take with a...
will over pressure trigger the CEL too? Cold running to work today (58*F) and my gauge was showing H right on the border of past high and I was noticing my CEL coming on, wasn't the knock sensor.......
I picked up a Help/Motormite pilot bushing (BBC?) and turned it to fit the car crank/trans input shaft when I did mine. The mount holes below the distributor need drilled and tapped for the driver's...
Cordes, my wife is convinced they intentionally give me the wrong part so I have to go back 2-3 times!
HT2, as it's just measuring the charge temp rather than flow I'd think any difference from...
I'm running a 2.5 Swirl head with mitsu turbo and a monster intercooler (saab 9000) and this is in a truck. It's a Boostbutton SMEC and cal and I keep it at 8psi boost (cal is good to 15psi). Stored...
That's the thing, same stereo (Pioneer) and nothing's changed except the charging - new alt 1 yr ago and now all of a sudden I'm getting the erratic charging, I figure this winter's salt has corroded...
2 mornings wouldn't start so yesterday I cut and crimped weatherproof connectors to the coil/adapter and it's running much smoother.... maybe my mpg will go up now. Still have the charging extremes...
I like Chris's suggestion about the oil filter check ball - it's integral to the thread/hex fitting installed in the block that the filter spins onto. Are you using the correct filter or a...
Out of curiosity, what are your EGTs? I'm getting mid 1300-1400 cruising on the highway with spikes up to 1600 under prolonged high boost - that's with the probe between the #3 & 4 cyls.
you know how it its, the shoemaker's kids running around barefoot. :)
