    Re: Difficult Ignition Cutout Problem

It acts instead like they do when the hep cuts out. The tach dies and coincides with the cutout. About the only thing I haven't changed is the ais. Maybe I'll give that a try.

    Re: Difficult Ignition Cutout Problem

It's the board I posted pics of a while back. I can look at any of the lm inputs or outputs and ,ost of the pertinent ones are already setup for a bnc connector.

    Re: Difficult Ignition Cutout Problem

The battery terminals are about it. With all of the various problems such as the fluctuating voltage, I think I had many gremlins and I'm getting down to just one. I need to decide which 4 channel...

    Re: Difficult Ignition Cutout Problem

Everything is back in the car and it looks really nice. I put the original harness back in and made another HEP with the deutsch connectors from a brand new hep. I cleaned some grounds, and generally...

Re: 89 Turbo Van Bad HEP?

I have never hesitated to go with an aftermarket hep and I haven't had problems because of it.

I would imagine that if you fix the wiring, the computer will most likely be fine.

    I recommend...

    Re: Microsquirt

Thanks a ton for that cost breakdown. I doubt much could be shaved off of that, so it's a very good baseline. I tend to go crazy when it comes to spending money on wiring, so that won't help things.

    Re: Microsquirt

I'm a little leery of mounting the sensor down there for a car which will see all weather conditions.

    Microsquirt

I'm toying with the idea of putting g mircosquirt in. My omni when I get it running. I don't need anything more than what the factory gave us for the most part. I do want to keep some sort of knock...

    Re: Tune adjustment?

I would double check that your map sensor is correct for the cal. That sounds way, way off.

    Re: Tune adjustment?

If it's the correct cal for the combination, 55psi static should be the fuel pressure. Lots of variables there. Do you have the stuff to go back to stock and move forward?

    Re: Difficult Ignition Cutout Problem

Thanks for that tip. I'll look at that, and it certainly seems like it is time for a scope, as the second harness is doing the same thing. I'm going to put a new hep in it after testing it on another...

    Re: Difficult Ignition Cutout Problem

I might give that a try. I have the harness in the basement next to my large bench. It would be easy enough to do.

    Re: Odd spark plug behavour

The new plugs are smoother. In some ways I would have thought the difference would have been greater given the difference in heat range. Definitely a step up though.

No. I will have to do that with this harness at some point. I think my father might be going back into business soon, so a fully equipped electronics lab may be available to me in the near future.

    Re: Difficult Ignition Cutout Problem

Of course, all of that work made no difference. I'm at a loss and can only imagine that one of the wires has a break in it, or there is some sort of incidental problem which has begun.

    This is...
