Re: COMPUTER GUYS! HELP! car died.

You guys are awesome, good advice! There were no codes or check engine light and my Snap on scanner wouldn't read it either. I went to the wrecker and got a smec and swapped the power board into the...

Re: COMPUTER GUYS! HELP! car died.

Thankyou very much! That's the info I needed, never thought of that. I was just about to send it back to FWD-P but I think I'll try that first. If it works I guess I can just swap it over and run it...

Re: COMPUTER GUYS! HELP! car died.

Again, the fuseable links are good. The SMEC has all power and ground wires operational going in, but not coming out.

Re: COMPUTER GUYS! HELP! car died.

I fixed the short but the DG/BK wire does not have power. The fuel pump does not power up unless I use a jumper at the ASD relay. When the computer sees the dist sync signal it is supposed to power...

Re: COMPUTER GUYS! HELP! car died.

The fuseable links are all good. All the powers and grounds going in are there but when you crank it, it won't power up the DG/BK going to the coil. If I jump the ASD relay it will power everything...

    COMPUTER GUYS! HELP! car died.

Hi all, my GLH died while driving. It has '87 T2 SMEC electronics and I'm using a trimcal from FWD-P. Turns out the green/black wire in the injector harness shorted to ground. That wire powers up...

Re: READY TO GIVE UP ON THIS DAMN CAR!(long)

Well I found it, took me a while because the electrical part of it kinda threw me off. If you've followed the story, after I put the new pistons in my intermediate shaft ate itself up almost...

Re: READY TO GIVE UP ON THIS DAMN CAR!(long)

Yeah I thought about that, unlike Daytona's on L bodys there is a cable that drives the speedo so it wouldn't show up on the speedo but it would on the DRB and it doesn't. Then again I havent looked...

Re: READY TO GIVE UP ON THIS DAMN CAR!(long)

I'm using Samco Sport 90 degreee elbows, they are good hoses, not cheap. You can squish them together with your hands I just can't see how they could close up under boost, and why would that cut the...

Re: READY TO GIVE UP ON THIS DAMN CAR!(long)

Ok, I tried a 2bar map sensor, with the 3bar cal. It made it pig rich so I didn't drive it long, but it does the exact same thing. As stupid as it sounds I wonder if it could be possible my...

Re: READY TO GIVE UP ON THIS DAMN CAR!(long)

I don't know where you got the idea I'm running a 3bar MAP with a 2 bar cal. What I was saying is I could put a standard turbo MAP (2 bar) to see if it goes over 5 psi so I could rule out the MAP.

Re: READY TO GIVE UP ON THIS DAMN CAR!(long)

The MAP sensor is a 3 bar MSD from TU, it worked fine before. The MAP is about the only thing I havent ruled out by swapping. I guess I could put a standard turbo one in to see if its that.As far as...

Re: READY TO GIVE UP ON THIS DAMN CAR!(long)

Re: Burned a piston BAD!!! BIG pics (long)

Thanks again Chris, I don't give up too easy. You know in 1992/93 I ran this same car, I had cast pistons, crappy 2" muffler pipe for IC piping, no big injectors, no wideband, no fancy cals, a crappy...
