  1. Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

    Be nice to the Scooby.

If it's the same bugeye WRX wagon you posted pics of earlier, tell him to go easy on his tranny. Those 5speeds they put behind the EJ205s are sensitive. Many people put a...
  2. Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

Does it hit 8 and slowly climb higher? If so, you have boost creep. Could mean your wastegate isn't big enough, or it's not opening as much as it needs.

If it Hits 9, 10, etc, then comes back down...
  3. Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

Did you figure out what your low boost problem was? Leak or wastegate?
  4. Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

If the turbo is taking too long for spool and / or it's not making as much boost as you should be, I would check to make sure the wastegate isn't stuck a little open, or that the arm isn't binding on...
  5. Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

And how full of carbon and soot is the back of your engine compartment now?
  6. Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

    Step 2:
    Remove oil pan.

Other than that, perfect write up! Deserves to be stickied imho.
  7. Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

Ohhh to be young again. I'm the guy that has the 3" exhaust and revs it up on purpose to wake up her parents.
    <-- Arse.
  8. Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

If you're running too rich for the operating conditions (air temp, amount of load, etc), you could be running into a rich misfire. Read the plugs after that happens, and I would also check the plugs...
  9. Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

Looks almost exactly the same as my new wheels - just mine is a sedan with the factory widebody.
  10. Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

I apologize chief - personal life has been kicking the ---- outta me. 2 jobs, buying a car, selling a car, and moving into a place that doesn't have internet access has killed me.
  11. Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

Pin 30 - Fused power from battery
    Pin 85 - Ground
    Pin 86 - Switching trigger (Switched +12)
Pin 87 - +12 output (When the relay is closed). Some relays have 2 outputs, and the second can be named...
  12. Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

I will get it 100% tonight for sure! I'm at the wife's tonight, so I'll make sure to grab my netbook. Been busy as hell with my WRX.

Reclocking a turbo is the process of loosening a few bolts, and...
  13. Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

You can always reclock the turbo and have you turbo outlet pointed down further.
  14. Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

Could always do the old school egg white trick :P
  15. Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

Could always pull a valve cover. The milkshake goodness usually builds up on the insides of them too.
  16. Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

Aren't our IACs spring loaded so they should remain closed if something weird happens?

Also - I'll make sure to grab those wiring specs tomorrow. Apologies - been busy working and buying a new...
  17. Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

Most of the wires in the DIY supplied MS2 harness are 18awg with the exception of injector drivers - which I believe are 14. I prolly be back out int he shop later on, so I'll take a look at my...
  18. Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

Auto gets old real quick when you have driven manual for such a long time. Glad to hear your leak is fixed up!
  19. Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

Of course my Netbook is at my GFs place when I need it.. Either way - 2 in, 4 out. I believe +12V is a 14awg Red wire, and there are three out from that - 1 for Acc (Blk/Wht), 1 for Key Forward (On...
  20. Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

I have the pinouts for the steering column kicking around at home, if you would like them. Specifically what wire is Acc, Key forward, and start position.
  21. Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

What the gauge displays and the lamba reading are the same - so if the sensor isn't reading properly, the tune would be being based off its reading as well, so you would feel it and see it on the...
  22. Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

One thing you have to remember as well is that heated O2 sensors can take some time to warm up evenly and read properly. I think the temperature they need to reach is something like 250 C, so on...
  23. Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

That cross over looks like it would put the turbo high turbos the back of the car, or high towards the front - not sure which direction it would go -- assuming rearwards.
  24. Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

Since you're planning to drive in the winter, and the case of the MS2 isn't weather proof, I would highly suggest inside the cabin. Helps keep the temperature moderated a bit better, and much less...
  25. Re: Sundance 6g72 "3.0 turbo build thread"(N/A DYNO SHEET pics inside)

Mine is also ran through the grommet under the drivers side of the dash. It's also one of the safest places as it's not near anything hot or dangerous to it. And you can still access it with the dash...
