    Maybe time for you to try the shifter out of a 420A equipped DSM? You will need a set of cables to go with the shifter. Be the test mule. Get the short throw stick to go in there at the same time.

    Learned more information. Thanks JT. You have a block made after 01/01/2001. It has all the block revisions, but not all the block machining. The oil drain will work with your 97 cylinder head.

    When the two step was installed on Andy's car we just used the RPM function and this gave incredibly predicatable boost on the launch. Full launch boost was achieved on the order of two seconds.

    Is a 568 case really that much different from a 523 case aside from the crank sensor mounting pad?

    FYI, the parts book shows the bearing support plate is the same 523/543/568.

    That little plastic thing that is ground up is for directing oil into the shaft so centrifical force can lubricate the bearings and gears on the that shaft.

    I've seen stock 2.4L's as low as 150, but as high as 200 cranking compression. Most run around 180psi. 2.0L HO's were around 220 when everything was right with the world.

    Just have to love that powdered metal. It's so easily molded to shape, so easily machined, so strong, but rattle it a little bit and BANG it's in a million pieces.
