Got a sad story and a free car for your consideration!
1982 dodge 400 convertible, 2.6 Mitsu and auto tranny. I traded for it last year to grab the body parts I'd need for my 1985 600 convertible...
Someone posted a reply, but it's gone now.
If you've still got those seats, please post again so I can contact you.
The power driver's seat in my '85 Konvertible just made some loud cracking sounds and now I'm always laying back like a gangster.
Does anybody have a line on a Driver/Passenger pair of...
FWIW, I've got the braided lines from Cindy on my Konvertible and I like 'em a lot. I'm sure the ones from Chris are fine, too. :-)
Awesome. This just sounds better and better. :thumb:
Mine's actually in fine shape structurally, it's just bowed upward about an inch in the middle! I have to jack the motor up to get it even...
It's been a long time since I read the page about your Z, Russ. Reading it again, particularly the dates, makes me not feel so bad about the progress I'm making with the Konvertible. Your Daytona is...
How level is everyone's car? How level do you want your car to be, and how can you achieve it?
I have newly-rebuilt 89 Daytona Shelby suspension with Konis and Eibachs on my Konvertible. The rear...
The core support in my Konvertible is trash, which explains the "intake manifold hitting the heater hoses under torque" problem.
Looking at it from side-to-side, it bows up about 3/4" in the...
A friend of mine at Purdue has an 88 or 89 3.0 New Yonker that she's worried about.
While she was driving it, the digital dash started flashing and displaying garbage, and the engine stopped...
Does anybody have any solid information about the build sheets from 1985? I was told they live under the carpet in the back, passenger side.
I didn't find anything under my carpet; not even junk...
Just thought I'd share some pics of the work I'll be doing on my convertible. I apoligize for the quality; they were taken with my camera phone.
Here it is with the seats out, getting ready to...
Also, though I hate to piss on anyones' parade...
Be careful with those one-legged burnouts. The diff pin doesn't like that very much.
Thanks, all. I'll just "forget" about it. Or maybe I'll use some of that flat black spraypaint I've got. :-)
That master cylinder has gotten worse, and it's getting replaced now instead of later, money be dammed.
That said: it's been seeping a bit out the end where it attaches to the brake booster....
According to Russ' site, the brake pedal ratio is 3.8 on L-bodies and 3.3 on everything else.
Wait, so is the fuel pump failing to turn on, or is it giving you 55 PSI?
I'm pretty sure it's not both. :-)
Allright. This one is a "new" (original, but never rebuilt) and the pedal is as hard as the Rock of Gibraltar. With either gentle pressure or "as hard as I can push" it just stays put.
I think...
One thing I did find is that one of the fittings on the prop valve was weeping. If it can let fluid out, I'm sure it can let air in, too... When I bled that line, there was tons of air in it....
Hi again, everybody. Just checking in with the latest crisis-of-the-day...
I totally rebuild the suspension and brakes on the convertible. The brakes work well, except every once in a while, they...
People get scared of brakes and say stupid things. I was looking for a new prop valve for my 600; 3 junkyards said they had 'em.
Two said they couldn't sell it because "It's illegal to sell used...
You'll have to get a hold of the "wiring diagrams" book from the FSM set for your year.
You might find that you can just install a "Federal" computer and forget about it, or you might find some...
Why not Johnny Spiva's Rockin'-@$$ bushings? They're kinda pricey, but they can't be beat!
I pulled it out and, sure enough, the output without, ahem, output was the one with the aluminum screw-in adaptor.
I unscrewed it and there was a shuttlevalve. I pressed it gently with a...
My prop valve doesn't produce any fluid at the rear (pass front brake) output!
Is there any way I can take this prop valve apart and maybe clean it, or am I totally stuck getting a new one?
