Hey sorry I never got back to you but I never came back up to the TD area as I was busy at the time I bumped into you. :|
Oh well, I had fun.
Traction is never "easy" in a FWD. Furthermore, in order to get traction you must set the car up in a manner in which it will handle terribly. So sure, it's "ok" for a RACE car but what if you want a...

Sorry but your like the millionth person to "think of it".
On that same note - it would be much easier to AWD an intrepid/300m/etc because the moor is in the right position already.
Stock 2.5 SOHC chrsyler motor + adapter plate + audi transmission.
That rampage would have some sketchy handling. It'd be killer at the drags though. Put a cover over the bed so they don't know there's 2 motors. :)
Yes thats another thing I didn't mention. I was looking at them a while ago. The WRX 5-speed trans is a POS. You'd need an STi 6-speed trans or a built 4EAT (4 speeed auto). It's a silly idea anyhow.
The EVO is by far the easiest. You could just make an adapter plate for the evo trans and use a 2.2 or a 2.4t.
As for the subie idea, it won't work with anything other than a subie engine. The TD...
I've seen it but AFAIK it was never finished.
No it used a reversed dana 40 mated to an A555 for the front diff. It was a custom 1-off.
As for a subie drivetrain, I saw someone do that to a lebaron.
Prepare to die laughing then!! The 78 Omni/Horizon was Motor Trend car of the year!! I kid you not!!
FYI the Omni was VW powered from 1978 to 1982.

Early impossible to find 78/79 omni's had shorter bumper ends - just shorten the brackets yourself... hmm also the old rampages had short bumper ends that should work. If you do find an OLD omni...
You don't "need" a/f or egt for a stock computer controlled turbo. You do need a boost gauge though for tuning and to make sure its boosting properly once its done. I would also spring for the a/f...
Good point - wasn't thinking! 88/89 is 50 pin smec - 90 is SBEC. Course that just makes is even easier. :)
Good news. TD's are as swappable as VW's. You need to use the omni's mounting brackets but other than that *every 2.2/2.5* be it turbo or not will bolt right in. The hardest part of the job is wiring...
My dad's challenger convertible is in the invitational as well. :) To be honest I am surprised they are putting such a "new" car in there but hey, awesome for you!
That works too. I'll stop by and check it out.
Eh, that can't be more than an hours worth of work. :)
While I dont have a car to enter anymore (I sold the lancer last weekend), my dads car will be there inside the show building (its in the invitational). If you see a red/black 71 challenger...
Snorl was a good car, if I didn't live in an area where its a PITA to own a car with a motor swap i'd still be driving it.
FMIC Sold!
Anyone need FSM's?
That too.
Yeah same one and still available.
I wish that would have worked out but I got sick and had a fever of 102 on sunday so I didnt go. :|
I could meet you somewhere though. As for whether it will...
I hope to see some pics and vids of it. :( I decided to get the flu instead and had a fever of 102. My car could have won something. :|
