Thanks guys. I appreciate your thoughts.
And, smoking is bad for you so I'm glad my Turbo Z quit. :)

I have some interesting news. I know that there may be some who may not believe but here's what happened, the long story.
My wife became very ill and the car sat for more than a few months. She...
Trannybuster... I rebult the entire engine. I did the lower end Mike did the head and the turbo.
Here's an article of my build.

What are you looking for by looking at pictures of the plugs?
The valve stems and seals were both changed in this head. Mike Holler built this head. I will wo as AZTurbo suggests and that is to clean everything, crank it and let the oil burn off but before I...
Thanks AZTurbo and to all who replied. I too suspect the turbo as the problem is only after the car has sat for a while. This 'while' could be 6 to 8 hours or weeks it doesn't matter. The amount of...
Car is '86 Turbo Z with an '88 intake, T2 turbo, '88/'89 air box with internal BOV.
I know it's not coming from the PCV system. There is no oil in the air feed line from the valve cover. But...

Thanks, Here is a link to the build pictures and some others at Carlisle in 2010.

Thanks, I like the new look of minimal vacuum lines/hoses/tubes. Also the realibility of the minimal hoses and plastic tubes should also prevent unscheduled repairs due to vacuum hose failure. :)
Where in Florida? I'm in Pensacola this week. 10,000 to one shot you're close but I had to ask.
That's the one. Thanks for the pic. Let me exhaust local resources so you don't have to package it etc.
I'm not home this week and it may be a while before I can get plug pics. When I can I'll post some pics. I'll first try the cleaning like I mentioned above and if that works, problem solved. If it...
No oil on the plugs at all. I ran the new engine close to 400 miles on dyno juice before the first change to synthetic and broke it in using good break in methods.
Keep in mind that the smoke...
Once again if you don't mind. What again is the difference between the '005' and '006'? Those extra holes for cross drilled blocks/heads? Why is it not acceptable to use a sharpened tube and cut the...
Any thoughts if...
All hoses are clean
PCV system 100% (clean hoses, new PCV valve, resealed {RTV} baffle inside VC)
Inside of turbo clean
and it still smokes 15 - 30 seconds after startup...
I don't have an intercooler. I never cleaned the hoses completely so I will remove both, wash them completely and try to get as much out of the turbo housing (inlet scroll) using rags and 'soft'...
Thanks, my concern was that the oil smoke I see out the turbo while is less and less, may be coming from the turbo somehow. I thought that if there was a restriction somehow in the drain back it may...
I didn't like the idea of the octopus type vacuum piece and decided to clean up the engine compartment. This is a photo of some steel lines I made and ran from the driver's side across the firewall...
OK that's what I thought. Should the TU hose 'sweat' oil? It's like condensation on the outside of a glass full of ice.
When I assembled my engine (about 6000 miles ago) I used a TU silicone return hose. The drain tube from the turbo is at the proper angle and it lines up with the tube into the block really well. The...
Thanks.
Mancini Racing has the 006 gaskets. $15.00 each.
Rather than starting another topic...
Today I removed the Valve Cover to 'reseal' the baffle. It was stuck on really good but I was able to clean everything and get it sealed. It was sealed well...
I assume it has the O-ring gasket, right?
Here's an article about the turbo rebuild on my Turbo Z.

There is a good picture of the waste gate actuating rod and where it clips...
