    Re: Power Steering Help

Honestly I didn't look at them that close, just glancing at them they looked the same. I don't know why I didn't think to check something that simple. I swear, lately I seem to have the mental...

    Power Steering Help

Okay, I feel like a real moron for having to ask this but which ports(top or bottom) on the L-body quick ratio rack is for the pressure and return line. It finally warmed up to above freezing so I...

    Re: Brake Problems

Yep, master cylinder seems to be the culprit. I think it's ridiculous that a 28 year old used master cylinder is in better working condition than a new unused U.S. made cylinder.

    Re: Brake Problems

The master cylinder was brand new.
Well, problem is fixed. It warmed up to the low 30's, so I put on my shorts and t-shirt and decided to work on the car(It's pretty sad when freezing feels really...

    Re: Brake Problems

I had the same problem, the piston firmed up a little but not like I remembered from doing one on a stock omni years ago. I have the stock master cylinder that came off the donor caravan, I think I...

Re: 87 Horizon 2.2L 6520 Carb Will Not Idle

Well, the first option is to do the VW dist mod. I looked into that initially but didn't like the lack of a hold-down flange on the distributor and decided to look for something else. Since I...

Re: 87 Horizon 2.2L 6520 Carb Will Not Idle

The car will run fine with the computer just controlling the ignition. When I converted my 87' Omni to a Weber I ran it that way for a couple years with absolutely no issues before I had to ditch the...

    Transmission mount problem

I am having some issues with the manual tranny mount on an 83' omni. It's the older system and uses the same style as the typical passenger side motor mount. The only way I can get it to sit in the...

    Re: ZF Conversion

I should have been more clear in my first post. I figured I would need the pump, lines and bracketry, I just wasn't sure if the lines would fit and route correctly in the L-body and have the same...

Will the ZF pump, hoses and bracket bolt right into an L-body without any modifications/problems. A nice looking turbo daytona just showed up in one of my local yards and it has the ZF pump on it. If...

    Re: Camshaft Sprocket Question

I decided to go with flat top 2.2 pistons in place of the original dish pistons so I will still be good on compression. What I need to know is using the adjustable sprocket or 535 with offset keys,...

    Re: Camshaft Sprocket Question

I admit I forgot about that. I was thinking that since the teeth and the keyways lined up, I would be where I needed to be for the slider cam and G-head. Since the 557 lines up and is approx. 2*...

    Re: Camshaft Sprocket Question

Okay, I may have just found really simple solution. I took one of the 974 square tooth sprockets off a spare 86' 287 head I had lying around. I wanted to see how far off the teeth would be with the...

    Re: Camshaft Sprocket Question
