Install travel limiters on the front?
I understand a softer rear spring will have more jounce at launch which will unload the front suspension more. Assuming a solid rear suspension and just concerning the front suspension travel am I...
Maybe time for you to try the shifter out of a 420A equipped DSM? You will need a set of cables to go with the shifter. Be the test mule. Get the short throw stick to go in there at the same time.
Pro Stock engines run something on the order of 0W10 or lighter oils these days.
Yes, even as far as the same longblock. The differences were the accessories and intake manifold. The non-turbo used the same bare block except for the turbo drain not being machined. Same idea as...
2004 PT turbo. When I finally get to building the 2.4 that is the block.
Learned more information. Thanks JT. You have a block made after 01/01/2001. It has all the block revisions, but not all the block machining. The oil drain will work with your 97 cylinder head.
Specifically the oil return on the front of the block between cylinders 3 + 4. The block on the right is an early production (before 12/31/2001) block from a PT. The block on the right is also from...
If you need a pump to put the billet gears in LMK.
When the two step was installed on Andy's car we just used the RPM function and this gave incredibly predicatable boost on the launch. Full launch boost was achieved on the order of two seconds.

Get to thrashing! My little brother really wants to see the Daytona. I believe he said something to the effect of, "The only Daytonas that run 10's have a V8 under the hood." He will be at St....
Dems some good lookin' teefes.
Is a 568 case really that much different from a 523 case aside from the crank sensor mounting pad?
FYI, the parts book shows the bearing support plate is the same 523/543/568.
John
Show the crack..er..um, show some pictures of the cracked aluminum plate.
Do you think the bearing was failing and letting the shaft move radially causing the plastic thingy to be destroyed, or was it just the inner race moving outward off the shaft causing the damage?
...
Were both the large and the small snap rings on the big bearing in the bearing retainer plate? The large snap ring keeps the bearing from walking in the bearing retainer plate and the small snap...
Lucky me had access to the right Miller tools. You might have to do a little grinding on the bottom of the fingers to clear the case to use this. Flip the fingers around and it will grab the race. ...
The oil feeder, the $2.50 part, p/n 4531528 was used 90-95 in the 523/568 transmission according to the parts catalog. It was labled a cover in the parts catalog when I looked it up today. Where...
p/n 4531528 is NS1 and no dealers show it in inventory. If you can find a new one online buy it.
That little plastic thing that is ground up is for directing oil into the shaft so centrifical force can lubricate the bearings and gears on the that shaft.
I've seen stock 2.4L's as low as 150, but as high as 200 cranking compression. Most run around 180psi. 2.0L HO's were around 220 when everything was right with the world.
I don't know much about imports, but did they use an absurd 4" stroke crankshaft? You know from experience that long stroke on an inline 4cyl sets up a wicked second order vibration. This whole oil...
Another oil pump failure with an aluminum pulley. Well that settles it. There's another big money part to buy before I can start my project. I'm convinced the oil pump gears are breaking due to...
Just have to love that powdered metal. It's so easily molded to shape, so easily machined, so strong, but rattle it a little bit and BANG it's in a million pieces.
