Thanks. Ya it was close. Sucks when you're faster but you still lose. And I had half the cylinder and no nitrous.

It was. From the film crew to the hosts to the other participants, I didn't come across one a**hole.
Thanks.
Re: Roadkill's $3K Hooptie challenge
Finally was able to watch the two most important episodes...
I hope the show will be a hit to continue. I enjoyed it.
You gave a good showing A.J. and I know it was a bit of a disappointment to get edged out, but you should be proud of the experience.
Thanks for representing us well!

I was more than satisfied with only winning my class. I was watching the races before mine and I knew what that Saab could do. When I got paired up against him I knew I was going to lose but then he missed a shift. As far as the Toyota Hilux, I had half the engine and no nitrous, was faster than him, but because he had a V8 and instant torque, he got me out of the hole and barely squeaked past me. I'm not disappointed at all. I already spent that $3000. I upgraded the intercooler (confirmed 26 hp-20 ft/lbs torque gain), upgraded the intake and throttle body (best butt-dyno felt mod I've done. Suspected possible 20 hp gain but I'll find out once I get my input shaft installed and hit the dyno), and had money left over to put towards my 500 hp/11.5 second forged lower end, big valve/big cam head build.

What were your 60' times?
The video made the launches for everyone look soft.

what intake and throttle body did you go with.

For the intake I used the turbo PT Cruiser aluminum lower and customs built an upper from parts I bought from Ross Machine Racing. I used this for the plenum: http://rossmachineracing.com/dplenum.html, these velocity stacks: http://rossmachineracing.com/ovalstack.html, and these end caps: http://rossmachineracing.com/dendcap.html. Here's a pic, hopefully it comes out, I've been having trouble posting pics.

For the throttle body I used one off of a Ford 5.4L V8. It has a 2.75" throttle blade but necks down to 2.6" in front of the throttle blade. Since my intercooler plumbing is 2.5" I figured it was fine. I had to weld on my throttle cable bracket and plumb in an external IAC because on the Ford 5.4 it's on the intake.

I can't find my time slips. If I come across them I'll post it.

I want to see what you'd run launching with some 1.8's!
Re: Roadkill's $3K Hooptie challenge
Just watched it, congratulation A.J.

I suck as a driver and tracks around here are too busy to get in any real practice.
