Re: 1990 Consulier GTP Targa
Passenger side window went down last weekend but would not go back up.
Got the "HELP!" part number 74410.
It is only three plastic roller bushings. Said for Ford on the package, but they worked perfect
as a replacement for mine.
My gear was still good. So just cleaned out the old plastic roller bushings which were ground to tiny pieces.
Re-lubed and now all back together and works perfect.
Re: 1990 Consulier GTP Targa
Those are the power window motor thingys? They are like kidney shaped kind of?
Well the original ones anyway.
Those ones you posted worked good? I need some for my Spirit.
Re: 1990 Consulier GTP Targa
The Spirit is like most FWD mopar's, there is a plastic piece that is a long gear track.
The Consulier is not like that. It is more like the old school early Fifth Ave rear wheel drive car.

Re: 1990 Consulier GTP Targa
I was talking about inside the window motor. Weren't those pieces in there under the gear cover?
I may have an issue with my track also, but I know those little plastic pieces in the motor gear are trashed too.

Got the canvas part done, took it to the seamstress to have the edges sewn and the straps sewn on.
Two bolts in front, 2 straps at each window and 4 straps at the back. Not a professional job at all,
but it will work to keep the weather out (mostly).
Re: 1990 Consulier GTP Targa
Nice, is the canvas water proofed? You can shrink the wrinkles up with some heat right.. maybe a heatgun instead of a dryer?
Re: 1990 Consulier GTP Targa
Waterproofish, just the same stuff used in convertibles and boat tops.
Re: 1990 Consulier GTP Targa
It is holding up. Traveling average 80-85 and it's great.
AND getting 31.6 mpg doing it.
Re: 1990 Consulier GTP Targa
Got this today.......
"I was talking with _____ this weekend and she said that she remembers your engine hatch flying off while somebody was driving it. Then it got run over and totally smashed."

Now I know where my engine cover went to.
edit/correction: it was not the engine cover...it was the targa top.
Re: 1990 Consulier GTP Targa
I was kind of wondering too, since was there for the poster pics.
I was thinking it was just misplaced in the warehouse. That's too bad.
They probably have the molds still and when I had talked to them it sounded like they may be interested in making some after they got settled in. (They mentioned like a year.) So maybe it will work out.

Re: 1990 Consulier GTP Targa
The top......
Took the car to 120 and it was all fine! :)
Also it rained HARD for about 30 minutes on my trip and was pretty dry inside.
So it worked!

A little bigger injectors to go along with the new computer.
Re: 1990 Consulier GTP Targa
Took one side of the rear suspension apart this morning.
Getting ball joints, takes 2 bolt on type and 4 press in style.
Also figured out polyurethane control arm bushing for it also.
Took the rear shocks off. Going to ship them to Bilstien to get them rebuilt.
Re: 1990 Consulier GTP Targa
Johnny, can you ship bushings now?
Re: 1990 Consulier GTP Targa
Yes I can. In stock. Just need to trim them and make a couple steel sleeves to go with them.
