Working on putting a 87 shelby z daytona for a buddy and as I was strapping the water pump on, I knoticed that the intake manifold is charge air temp sensor-less. I got this thing as a rolling shell with the motor on a stand, so i don't know how it was before. Is it supposed to have one? becaue if it is... F$#@ing Damnit!!! I have to pull the head off to put one in the manifold as it is solid there.
did they come stock with a 2 piece intake??
As far as I know, they were on all T2 cars. 1987 model year should be on the rear of the upper plenum. Here's what I did with my shadow, I used an O2 sensor bung welded on the charge pipe (same thread) and lengthened the wires for the sensor. It works perfectly.
87's came with a 2 piece...
You can drill the hole on the car, just use a vacuum to suck up chips while you do it. Even if you get a couple in there, no biggie, it won't do any harm.

shart. The car didnt come with a 2 piece. It came with a once piece intake on it w/no sensor. I guess I'll try to put one in there..... Damn!
