That is really cool. A new non-n2o record. Congrats.

Re: Intro and Update: Slugmobile and Mean Mini! (long read, but worth it)
Nice work!
I was thinking that someone had run in the 10's in a van though...

Re: Intro and Update: Slugmobile and Mean Mini! (long read, but worth it)
I just looked at the webpage link in your post #580.
Hey that's me in my daughter's 1988 turbo Sundance racing Gus.
He calls it a Shadow.
What a blast from the past!

Great run Wayne!!!
A long hard pull, the guy in the 1955 Chevy must have been surprised.:confused2:
Thanks
Randy

Thanks Randy!
It was a little less satisfying when i got back in the staging lanes and pulled right behind the same 55 Chevy, only to find a woman driving. (Not that women can't race, as so many can prove that wrong. I just mean that wow, i can brag "I beat a woman in a 55 Chevy"! ;) )

I guess the stickers don't add 10 hp each like we thought!

Re: Intro and Update: Slugmobile and Mean Mini! (long read, but worth it)
For anyone interested i've got some info grouped into a google drive folder:
https://drive.google.com/folderview?...EQzZ1VuVm43cUE
Run1 is the good run, the other two i believe the harder launching sloshed fuel causing issues.
This should let you access my log data, and the cal files, and some pictures that have already been posted.
Let me know if you can't.

Re: Intro and Update: Slugmobile and Mean Mini! (long read, but worth it)
wayne, i assume you are using the mpscilink device? are you logging with mpscandroid at the same time or are you just recording it to the sdcard? is the device working well? is egt the only analog port you are using? you can just email me if you prefer.
oh ya, nice runs. i like the way it seemed to hold strong all the way to the end.

Re: Intro and Update: Slugmobile and Mean Mini! (long read, but worth it)
It pulled the whole way and i shifted right around 6000, there might be more by shifting a bit later.
Yes, i went back to using the mpscilink and logging to my phone (mpscandroid) via bluetooth. I am logging 2 anslog inputs, EGT and intake temp currently. I think something changed when i deleted my EGT gauge from the layout and then re-added it. The readings are less stable than they were. I'll email you more info.
Otherwise it seems to record well, and i don't see duplicate or tripicate values like the pc version. I haven't trimmed down my data points so i'm still logging a bunch.
I think i'd like to try it on my newer phone and see if the bluetooth link can establish quicker. I've got some other observations to discuss with you as well.

Re: Intro and Update: Slugmobile and Mean Mini! (long read, but worth it)
Posting this info so its all in one MeanMini update.
MeanMini makes history!
When: 11-12-2016
Where: 15th Annual ABM Nats at Cecil County Dragway
MeanMini breaks her current record that was set just 6 days prior at Fayetteville Motorsports Park Dragway of 12.023@110.38 with a jaw-dropping:
11.834@112.92mph!
With that run she i believe she reclaims her title of World's Fastest Turbo Dodge Caravan (*no-nitrous)!
Dan caught it on video:
https://youtu.be/85cD4aZmCQo
Here is the GoPro view from the outside of the van:
https://youtu.be/5_nkvVoppDM
Here is the dashcam view:
https://youtu.be/cZRTxhR6hdk
And also look for arial drone footage of MeanMini at the 2:17 mark in this video montage:
https://youtu.be/CDGoaWgurAI
A videographer took some video and came back in the pits to get some info, so i think he is going to put together a video piece on MeanMini. Don't know what group he was with though. I'll know more after he contacts me for my footage.
Here's a video he put together. He clipped the plug for Brian Slowe though! I didn't forget your help with this Brian! You deserve alot of credit!

mpscilink / mpscandroid logs and MPTune cal files are here if you would like to view. (Use of any cal files is at your own risk.)

Re: Intro and Update: Slugmobile and Mean Mini! (long read, but worth it)
Midwest Streetcars, Daddy Dave, and Farmtruck /AZN have all posted about the MeanMini today! The internet is just whistling with the sound of the Turbos Unleashed DBB turbo and Brian's handywork!
If anyone knows anything about having someone do a photo shoot, and article, now would be the time while the interest is high.

Re: Intro and Update: Slugmobile and Mean Mini! (long read, but worth it)
Well, you did go to Cecil. It seems to be some sort of nexus for ending up on the internet.

Congrats!, great times, this coming summer is going to be the year of the Caravan/Voyager....

Re: Intro and Update: Slugmobile and Mean Mini! (long read, but worth it)
Great job Wayne,
What cooling issues did you have? Even with a TIII engine, stock rad with the condensor in front of it, a/c cranked in the summer, I never had overheating issues.

Thanks Simon!
I was investigating some cooling issues in another thread. But, even with the CSR electric water pump the coolant gets pushed to the overflow during a run (heavy load/boost).
I dicussed with Warren Hall, and it is similar to what James Reeves had seen in the past.
My theory is, is it possible for combustion gas at high cylinder pressure to get into the water jacket between the layers of the Cometic gasket? The top and bottom layer have thst coating, but the individual steel layers do not.
If the head comes off in the future, i think i'll try spraying each layer individually with copper spray.
