upper strut insulator placement
does it matter what direction the upper strut insulator is, its beveled at an angle and the upper strut mount spins to allow placement into the strut tower. The spring only sits in one direction on the strut. I'm assuming I can spin the strut where it needs to be after I get it in the tower?
Re: upper strut insulator placement
Can't believe no one has answered for you.
Yes it matters. There is a little notch in that upper strut mount, but i can't remember how it is supposed to be oriented!
Can't remember if the notch is supposed to be out, or facing front or whatever.
When you look at the mount from the side you can see there is a bit of an angle to it.
Still needs answering by a suspension expert.
Re: upper strut insulator placement
yeah I see the angle, and I see the notch and there are two lines on the opposite side. anybody?
Re: upper strut insulator placement
The notch goes to the outside of the car, facing the wheel/hub. Line the notch up with the strut tangs before relieving the spring compressor and you'll be good.
