Different part numbers the SBEC2 PCB board
I have found two different SBEC2 PCB board 4517652 and 4632377
I am guessing that the 377 was the early release and my examples utilize the 87C257 latch chip
The 652 was able to use the 87C257, 27C256, SST and Toshiba chip.
I will be checking part number on the chip with the parts fiche.
Any additional information will help.
Re: Different part numbers the SBEC2 PCB board
Is the board number readable without destroying the SBEC?

If you have one which is fairly clear, you should be able to read what is under the potting compound. IIRC, the numbers are toward the outside of the board and not obscured by components.

Yes the PCB part number are on the back side of the board but if you look in my other post it will show you how to identify without flipping the board upside down

I have not ripped my SMECs apart yet. Most chips are labelled with Mopar part number so it is difficult to say what they are. Please send picture as we maybe able to figure it out.
Re: Different part numbers the SBEC2 PCB board
The first one is a Motorola 68HC11 variant, i just need to know which one it is so i can figure out what clock speed it is, rom only or eprom memory.

Next one is a Peripheral Interface Controller, only reason i know that is when i did a google search one of those chinese wholesale sites had them listed as such but no data sheet can be found anywhere on the site.

next 2 i have no info on.

Since all these chips are 30 years old nothing shows up in any online catalogs.

So sorry but I cannot see the pictures??
Here are a few links to info on the LM and I am certain you will see similarities. I do on the SBEC/SBEC2
TurboSOB send me this the other day.
I found this:

Sorry I have done near zero on the SMEC other than a socketed one last weekend so I can bench test new products.
Here is what I collected from Rob L on the 87 LM for what it is worth.
