'92 5 speed (A523?) Parts Compatibility
I found a '92 caravan locally with a 5 speed. Can I use this shifter and pedal box for my '88 when I do my manual swap?
Re: '92 5 speed (A523?) Parts Compatibility
Something tells me there are some minor changes to work around but absolutely yes.. get everything you possibly can.
should be a 3.77 523, good all around unit if you dont go stupid with power and abuse. Where are you in southern Md ? I have most all the tools for the manual transmission servicing and some parts if you want to freshen up anything before installing it.
Re: '92 5 speed (A523?) Parts Compatibility
+1 for robbing everything you can off of it. There is a ton of good stuff in every trans out there.

Well my van is a v6 so I cant use the transmission itself from what I understood, because thats a 4cyl bellhousing. I was mainly concerned with the pedal box/shifter/linkage ect for the day when I find a good v6 trans. My plan would be to drive the thing as a beater until it quits and then take it all off. Maybe boost it idk. I am in the Lexington Park area.

yes. take pedals. and cables. and shifter. cable bracket. and cable retainer on the fork.

PULL THAT TRANSMISSION! The GUTS are worth it!

Year for year with a few changeover dates, internally the transmission is the same. call it source of parts for when you get a 543 and need something. I'm in Mechanicsville but work down off Pacific drive at JF Taylor, trainer products group.

Re: '92 5 speed (A523?) Parts Compatibility
If you don't pull the whole trans I need the diff out of it if you're willing to pull that out.
Re: '92 5 speed (A523?) Parts Compatibility

Not to get too off topic, but Im trying to confirm whats going on now. Upon head removal I found milkshake inside the head bolt hole in the block. Im writing about it in my build thread.
