Attachment 45842Attachment 45843well I got my coolant system put together today and my power steering too :) i used the 88 shadow ZF late model pressure line to fit the r/t pump since its a zf style and all i had to do was minor bending to the metal tube part where it screws into the rack for proper alignment.. threads and overall size is the same.. so if anyone else wondered, there ya go :) heres a couple pics of the shroud I made for the griffin (shirrocco style) rad. I'm using.. also rechecked cam timing and it was a little off, i tried the 2 wrenches method and yea i did it over the right way and pulled the rocker shafts loose set the timing and tension and retorqued everything back upAttachment 45844

Glassbead blasted the wiper arm linkage and stuff and painted it. Attachment 45986Attachment 45987
Also gonna have to put the battery in the trunk so i can put the w/a intercooler in that spot. Just have to decide on configuartion for plumbing it
Re: 87 CSX #175 project log

Attachment 46030since i was asked for an engine bay pic that I thought I had already uploaded but didn't.. here's one of it currently unfinished.. still need to wrap the harness and relocate the batt to the trunk and install the intercooler, replace the throttle cable bracket since its the wrong one (too short), and all the little odds and ends that need to be tidy'd up.... and Devils own stage II Meth kit later on:eyebrows:

Re: 87 CSX #175 project log
well here's an update since I haven't done so in a while. I was thinking of putting the battery in the trunk because of the lack of room under the hood but jegs to the rescue with really small batteries :)
The spot I managed to fit the I/C is tight but works good here's some pics of all that and also redid the top coolant return hose just waiting for the last reducer to show up.

wow i slipped to the 2nd page fast.. well it's now almost done and i see the light at the end of the tunnel. installed my 29k btu oil cooler, installed the rad and pump for the w/a ic and plumbed it all up, made the batt box and mounting brackets and installed, finished the ic piping and intake pipe as well and installed the greddy bov, mounted the coil to where it will go for now and installed the catch can system 1qt. Jazz breather type.. exhaust system will show up Friday so I'll fab and install that over the weekend.. sorry the pics aren't clear but i'm still not to good at taking pics with a phone..:p

Re: 87 CSX #175 project log
I used to have wheels just like those on my old WRX. Mine were Rotas, but I bet those are the Drag Wheels version, right? Either way, they are copies of Work wheels, but whatever. :p I always thought they would look good on one of these, and I was right, they look great! Too bad I probably can't run a set on mine because I don't have coilovers.
Re: 87 CSX #175 project log
Yea those are the drag wheel versions. Got a pretty good deal on them too. I finally got to take my car for a quick ride over the weekend after working out some bugs and so far it goes pretty good :) more updates later

Re: 87 CSX #175 project log
just about done with things.. now it's all the little things.. atleast everything fits behind the grill like i thought it would and can barely see anything aftermarket :) . found a spark plug not firing correctly causing my tuff starts and ruff idle so I changed that out and it starts easy like it should and idles pretty decent now. Hopefully start working on the hood this weekend if the doors don't slow me down.. already got the door jams all jammed in primer just gotta finish the outside of it but thankfully these doors come off of an 88 es that only had 35k on it and super clean, it was just little knicks and tiny dings and i removed the studs for the top mouldings cause i'm using the newer style (bottom only) since I think its a cleaner looking moulding. The hood i can see slowing me right down though..but man I'll be happy when there is a DC yellowbird style Hood on my car. Yes there will be plenty of pics on that :) here's a couple related to this update.

Re: 87 CSX #175 project log
well the doors came along nicely, got the doors in full prime and even painted in inside " Jam " so I'm happy but to bad I noticed I had got the wrong darn color..
It is painted the correct X8 code but I painted the car X3.. the color is almost the same anyhow, but I won't paint the outside of the door till I go get the right color.
The hood is coming along but WOW do those foam blocks make a HUGE mess! very easy to work with though :).. At first I tried using spray glue to hold the blocks in place but nope that doesn't work
So yep break out the trusty ole hot glue gun. I've gathered as many pics of the yellowbird as i could find so it should come out good when I'm done but I've decided to not make an exact copy
but keep as close as possible to it cause from what I can tell from the pics and mock up comparison is that hood is about 4" atleast tall and has atleast a 4" extension lip at the rear of the hood
and I'm keeping mine at about 3-3.5" tall with around 2.5" maybe 3" extension lip. So in the end it will be very close to the original as far as I can tell..I got ALOT of sanding to shape that just right..
