Re: ForcedFedMopar's 85 GLH-T
not happy with the cars performance i decided to upgrade to the 89 wiring and computer.
(no pics of this process)
Car runs well with a custom cal from FWD PERFORMANCE.
Well now that it runs well i turned the boost up and blew the headgasket last fall before i put it away. (small external leak)
got it out a few days ago and finished it off while taking a friend for a ride.
i have collected some suspension parts i figured i should throw on it
LRE lowing sprigs
KYB sturts all around

Re: ForcedFedMopar's 85 GLH-T
the car pulls extremely hard so i decided that the open diff 555 was a problem. spins through first 4 gears terrible. so LSD was installed in a spare trans.

thats yesterday
Next week i will pull the drivetrain and swap trans. do a headgasket and a few other small things at that time. then off to the track. we only have an 8th mile close by but im hoping i can pull of an 8.5
Re: ForcedFedMopar's 85 GLH-T
wow I remember seeing those original photos way way back. really turned her around.
Re: ForcedFedMopar's 85 GLH-T
Looks amazing.
I like the Lexus fender cover
Re: ForcedFedMopar's 85 GLH-T
Looks good Jeff! Glad to see that car get a good home, it was probably the most solid GLH I've ever come across. Still have a white valve cover with purple fins if you ever decide to change it back to it's original style.

Re: ForcedFedMopar's 85 GLH-T
Excellent work Jeff! That car came a long way; that first engine bay pic looks like a grease bomb went off under the hood! those seats and interior trim pieces look amazing with the blue too.
Did you get one of the A555 quaife LSDs from the group buy? Or did you go hybrid with A520 internals? I am debating which route I should go now that I see TU offers the quaife for the A555s. I can't believe you didn't post any pics of the LSD ;)
Good work and keep us posted. More pics are always welcome!

Oh and I like your aluminum dowel prop rod in that one pic. Classy!
Re: ForcedFedMopar's 85 GLH-T
lol. i know i will get critizied for this but i am trying the omni potent black-trax LSD. I dont plan on keeping the car 5-speed for much longer as i am in the works of building a bigger/better drivetrain for it. but it wont go in for quite awhile so i decided to go this route for the summer.
heres some pics of the LSD install.
i added a pin ontop of the dowl pin. it looks to me that if it ever came loose it could cause the pin to take flight. so i put this extra pin in to make sure everything is snug.

thats about it.
Re: ForcedFedMopar's 85 GLH-T
With traction you'll pull out an 8.5. I wouldn't doubt if you hit high 7's.
Re: ForcedFedMopar's 85 GLH-T
I saw this car last summer in person, looks beautiful. Loved that you shaved the rear side markers and rear bumper

I see that these pistons have 4 valve reliefs. Is this a pic if your t-3 motor, or are you planning to upgrade you 8v set-up to a t-3 or hybrid in the future?
Nice build. I love that santa fe blue color!!
