Description: Description: Late 80's prototype 2.5 hybrid motor. Chrysler A592 program. Complete as pictured. Don't know too much about it, photos tell the story. No clue what to ask, so I'll start at $1,500.

The ports etc. look to be a dead ringer for it.

definitely looks like a tester for the neon sohc head. That head gets some flack but theres a couple guys at least that were making over 200whp with that head n/a.

From what I can gather, there was a proposal to replace the TI with an N/A 2.5 4 valve motor, Chrysler & Lotus worked on the program together. I assume this was one of the designs but haven't pursued it...I don't think they would have used the 2.5 for a 2.0 test, but who knows..

The exhaust port appears superior to the 2.0 SOHC design.

odd with a na style exhaust manifold and dished pistons .. with the valve reliefs at the front instead of the back

makes me wonder if they are 2.5 pistons installed back to front (???) being a prototype

Did it come from the '94 Newport Beach Shelby auction? I remember 3-4 engines on pallets being sold. I fell in love with a race 2.2 weber/sidedraft motor. I talked to the guy that bought that one, he said he was gonna make a coffee table out of it:confused:

Nope, I live about 15 minutes from CTC Auburn Hills, it came from the area.

I've bought some of the craziest stuff from guys in Michigan.

So much want. So far away. I'd love to figure out a way to get this and get it running again.
