Don't have any issues with my BMF intake.

IIRC BMF tube was only 1/8", possible it could have been 3/16". I used 1/4" wall on my plenum, 3/8 or 7/16" on floor.

Had a similar conversation with 22Shelby before he made his recent intake. It somewhat depends on some things
Structure
--round is stronger than box
--if a box are the corners bent metal or welded seams or extruded cross section? (weld typically more prone to crack than other 2)
--large flat areas give more leverage to boost to hurt corners
Why do they crack?
--Boost level comes into play for 'magnitude' of force
--cyclical fatigue (boost->vacuum->boost) will cyclically fatigue
--backfires, large impacts also cause fractures
So with welded plates, 1/4" is safe, 3/16 is possible if pay good attention to design, and I'm not sure I'd go 1/8" unless it's a full extrusion?
I went with 1/4" plate on mine, box design. Held up well for 6 years or so, so far.
Thanks for the info. See how bad I can screw this up.
