Shelby Dodges to be included in National Display
Hi All,
Just a quick note to let you know that there will be at least two Shelby Dodges included at the Hershey AACA Museum's "Tribute to Carroll Shelby" from February 11th 2011 till April 24th 2011. This is in Hershey, Pa., about a half hour from Carlisle, Pa.
I was asked to included my '87 Charger GLH-S (5210 miles) and '87 Shadow CSX (8379 miles). Both are all original down to the tires. They are letting me do the Dodge display as I wish. This means lots of memorabilia from the 1980's, incuding artwork, posters, factory pictures, and some surprises.
It's an honor to be asked, and that they actually "remembered" us amongst all the Mustangs and Cobras that will be there. Please show your enthusiasm and make a trip with the family to see the display. We are putting alot of time and effort into it.
There will also be a Shelby cruise in on one of the Saturdays during the show for any type of Shelby car!. Please check the Hershey AACA museum website for exact times.
Hope to see you guys come out and support this neat museum offering. My cars never come out of the house, but in this case I'm making an exception!
Hope to see the Shelby Dodge guys come out and support the display!
I'm glad they remembered us!
Thanks, Gerry
Re: Whittier cars to be included in Tribute to Shelby Display!
They are lucky to have two low mile examples showing up. Have a good time.

Nice, you'll have to post some pictures up of the display!
Re: Shelby Dodges to be included in Carroll Shelby Tribute
Thanks for posting up the info Gerry. I have talked to the folks at the museum and they are mailing me some info on the show. From what you wrote, it sounds like the cars being shown are set and no more are needed, rather no other Shelby Dodges will be there. Is this correct? Just curious as I haven't seen the info from them as yet.
Also I moved this to the events forum which is more applicable.
Thanks, Barry

Re: Shelby Dodges to be included in Carroll Shelby Tribute
Hi Barry,
Yes the cars are set......unless you can find us a LeMans GT40 or a Cobra Daytona coupe that someone is willing to loan out!
There is a 1987 Shelby Daytona something that will be in the display with mine. It wasn't my decision for it to be there, as I felt only cars built at a "Shelby factory" or "shelby numbered" should be there.
But, if you want to get technical, the 1968 and up Shelby Mustangs were done by Ford, not by Shelby. So, there are some broad perimeters.
Because of my collection/devotion to the Shelby Dodge cars, I was asked to put together the 1980's display. So, the other Daytona will be there also. There is a listing of the cars to be included on the AACA Hershey website.
Trust me on this......it will be worth coming!

Sounds like an awesome opportunity to display a couple of your cars Gerry, I mean other than inside the house that is;) So who's in charge of taking some pictures of the show and posting them here:eyebrows:
Re: Whittier cars to be included in Tribute to Shelby Display!
Hmm, I think I remember reading about this event-twice already:lol: Where are the thread merger gods when you need them?
Re: Whittier cars to be included in Tribute to Shelby Display!
This would be worth the price of admission by watching all these Shelby's enter the museum. None of them under their own power:nod:. Tighten up those hernia belts guys! I hear the expected humidity level might be high, so bring along the dehumidifiers:p.
Seriously, good luck and have fun Gerry. Have thick skin cause your bound to hear a few snide remarks from the Ford fanatics.
I used to get those kinds of remarks at the World of Wheels shows when I had my GLHS entered. A guy in a 93 Cobra R just couldn't comprehend how a FWD car could be allowed in his class. After the GLHS took home the class trophy his buddy says to him yeah the really sad part is that car would more than likely beat you on the track too. He turns to his friend and says maybe the guy in the Omni can give you a ride home, cause I'm not after that remark!:D

GERRY thanx for the posting, sounds like a great spot to visit. Do you have any pictures available of your two low mileage Shelbys? I bet a lot of folks here would enjoy seeing each of those, including myself.

That's because the CSX rarely leaves the garage!
I think these cars are starting to gain more interest, I have had several people ask me about the Turismo when I'm out driving it.
