quarter glass leak
I discovered the quarter glass is leaking on the wifes 86 Laser XE. I assume I need to remove the glass to re-seal it. The factory service manual is not much help for a *method* to cut the glass out, so what tool or technique have you guys found for this operation? I also gave some thought to packing butyl 'window ribbon' from the inside between the window and body to try to seal this instead of cutting it out. Any other ideas?
thanks!

Re: quarter glass leak
I would attempt resealing from the inside at all costs before even considering removal. Cutting out glass is an acquired skill and your still more than likely going to destroy it anyways. Have a replacement piece of glass in your possession before you attempt removing it.

Re: quarter glass leak
Thanks.
I've cut out windshields and rear windows before, but this looked to be a difficult/risky procedure to me due to how tightly it fits to the body and also because of the glass frame. I will attempt to seal it in place.

Re: quarter glass leak
the window and the trim frame are one assembled piece that bolts in from inside the car
it's pretty basic to remove and reseal
