Can you share which brand? What was the stall and was it what you expected?

I'm guessing that may be a good match, at least it is great you can try. It may be a bit higher stall for you with that power.
I think my stall may be too high. Certainly i think my converter slip is too high.
So the thing to do would be to dyno the car, then use that data to spec out a torque converter?
Buying a converter before the car is even built is a crapshoot. (Ask me how i know!) It's amazing MeanMini has done what she has with such a mis-matched combo. (Trans gearing and converter. A build for the street is not often great at the track.) But i think she might deserve a better matched converter.

The brand that it was is a problem. I do know that it came from the Maryland area I think. A person gave details about their vehicle and engine and then a converter was custom built. I do know that several forum members ran one back in the day. The stall was 3500 rpm out of boost and it would stall to 5500 rpm and get VERY Tight once the boost hit! The converter was more than what I was expecting! Maybe some other members can help with the brand!

Was it Dynamic Converters LLC in Delaware?
Forward Motion used to carry those several years ago, then switched to recommending PTC (Performance Torque Converters).
I've got a Dynamic Converters unit in Slugmobile, but it has never really been pushed at the track since being rebuilt. (I think I have a cracked flexplate)
And in Mini theres a PTC. Both were bought through FM.

And that ^^^ is VERY familiar! ;)
Re: a413 torque converter
Is Dynamic still in business?
Re: a413 torque converter
They were a couple/few years ago because they rebuilt Slug's converter.
Re: a413 torque converter
Mike said this converter stalled around the 3k mark on his 2.2, with a slightly smaller turbo. He also used nitrous to get things in motion out of the hole. I think with my 2.5 and roughly the same or even a little more power than him it will work nicely for what I'm doing. If not at least I can make my first race on May 6 and get data. (Will be dyno tuned before gen)
Re: a413 torque converter
Can we get an update?
How did things go, and what was your feedback from the loaner converter?
Re: a413 torque converter
converter is TIGHT! Wont 60' to save its life lol. Im adding nitrous this week to bandaid this issue

We should talk at SDAC.
Re: a413 torque converter
What fluid are you running?
My trans guy fill mine with the John Deere hydraulic fluid and told me we
can change the fluid to a higher viscosity if I wanted to loosen up the converter, slightly.

That's interesting. Im currently running store brand dex/merc. I was told by Jakes performance in some other trans to use the "cheap stuff" because theres no benefit to using the fancy fluid, so I just do that will all my stuff now.

Cheap stuff FTW! Autozone....TSC 5 gallon pail.....whatever...
Re: a413 torque converter
Can we get another update on this? How did it go for the rest of the year? And are you making a change over the winter?

Rest of the year went well. Went all season improving times and chipping away at chassis issues. Im currently having a custom converter made. Should be the cats meow, and drop my times significantly.

Can you share the manufacturer? Are they familiar with our cars and trans? What info do they need to get a custom one made?
I think my converter is too loose.

I will as soon as I have it up and running and all is well. So far I am happy with them and the service. Hoping the converter works like he says it will.
Re: a413 torque converter
A1 is building a lot of the big hp cars converters....
