Hey guys, i'm looking to replace my brake booster, has anyone bought a replacement and have the correct part#. In the "alternate parts" thread it says it calls for cardone 54-73172 and looking on Rock Auto that looks like the right one even though its listed for a AT tranny. Just want to be sure, thanks
That's the wrong one according to Cardone's web site. You need a 54-74100

The oem parts catalog gives the same listing for all 1991 AA bodys. on every engine/transmission combination. 205mm size
for P bodys though :confused2:. 4 cylinder manual transmission cars got a larger 230mm booster. Automatic transmission and/or 3.0 v6 got the 205mm like everyone else.
Jackson said he thinks that all the big brake cars had the same booster.
Rich, that is not the correct one by the looks of it. Too short and the vacuum hook-up is wrong. Mine looks just like 54-73172 that is listed on Rock Auto even though it's listed for a automatic.
nobody has replaced a brake booster on these old cars????
the booster on bansheenut's car looks like the 3.0 boosters in my Duster and Spirit.
I sort of doubt that picture is a picture of the actual part that part number brings up.
Anyone have the OEM part number so that we could try and cross reference it?
pretty sure all the big brake cars are the same, i agree with jackson, i through 2 of them away even both from R/Ts
