Description:
I'm parting out a 1987 Shelby Lancer. The hood and doors are the only good steel body panels. Plastic body panels are all in good shape.
Cloth interior is very nice and complete.
Engine, struts and shocks are not available.
I can deliver any pre paid parts to SDAC.
No credit, C.O.D. or Dibbs.
Re: Parting out 1987 Shelby Lancer
Dang, one more reason to go to SDAC this year. I should make a list.
I would especially like the plastic cowel cover just below the windshield.
Re: Parting out 1987 Shelby Lancer
I'm interested in the rear-seat fold-down handles if they're in good shape and you're willing to mess with that.

One is broken. I'm afraid to touch the other.

I'll have to take a closer look at that and get back to you. I recall it being in decent shape.

The one part I'm looking for too! LOL
Re: Parting out 1987 Shelby Lancer
I don't want to take this too far off topic, but how do they break? Mine are both in excellent condition.
Re: Parting out 1987 Shelby Lancer
The plastic gets brittle after years of being exposed to UV. It's the same part on P body rear seats.

Oh really? That's potentially useful.. thanks!
Re: Parting out 1987 Shelby Lancer
Did they change them for 89? I'm pretty sure the flip up lever on my 90 shadow was distinctly different than the pull knob on my 89 Lancer.

They are both broken on my SL. I have to use a needle nose pliers on the actuator rod inside the seat to fold the seats down. I think ajakeski is right in that the UV degrades the plastic handles to the point that the plastic handle gets brittle and snaps off.

Re: Parting out 1987 Shelby Lancer
Well, I was clearly off base. Just looked at my 89 and it's the lever just like the P body cars. Mine are in perfect shape. I'm assuming that it's because the car had tinted windows. My Shadow had great condition levers too, which is probably due to being a northern car.

Re: Parting out 1987 Shelby Lancer
The black headlight doors are sold, but I do have a set of purple ones from a LeBaron GTS.
I'm keeping the paprework and books for the car for now.
Re: Parting out 1987 Shelby Lancer
Can you sell the ign key and lock cylinder with both door lock cylinders? Long story short shipping company lost my key.

Take one of the door cylinders to a locksmith, $25 later and you have the correct key. You will have to do the same with the hatch.

That's what I'm going to try first. I just remember calling a few about my Omni years ago and they were apprehensive about a car that old.
Re: Parting out 1987 Shelby Lancer
Got the key thing sorted out but I would be interested in other things. Any and all good rubber (door seals, window seals and sweeps), driverside tail lamp, any good working door lock actuators. I will try to think of other stuff.
