L-body strut mount problem
I am trying to reassemble the struts/springs for my GLH Turbo. The coil springs are original to the car and now powder coated. The new struts/mounts/boots are all regular KYB GR2 replacement stuff from Rock Auto. The problem I'm having is that even after putting it all together and removing the spring compressor, the top strut mount plate seems loose/wobbly. To me it looks like the shaft sleeve that sits inside the rotator bearing is too long. Anybody else have a problem like this before on an L-body? Maybe I'm just missing something obvious.
I do have an '87 FSM that I'm using and it has an exploded view of the L-body strut/spring assembly. It looks like I have it all together and aligned right.
Re: L-body strut mount problem
Jeremy I have seen this many times before. I'm sure you have it installed correctly. I have some uninstalled L-body struts off one of my cars are the moment and mine wobbles too. You could try to shorten that sleeve up just a smidge if it is bothering you. It shouldn't have any effect once installed in car though.

Good to know, thanks Todd. Looks like I'm saved from having to disassemble it all over again!
