SAE 30R9 versus SAE 30R14 Fuel Injection Lines
I'm reading mixed comparisons on 30R9 and 30R14 fuel injection lines. Some people are saying that the 30R14 can't handle the PSI put out by my '86 GLHS. Others are saying it's fine. For example, if you look at Napa's chart on the Gates Barricade, linked here:
http://www.napabeltshose.com/~/media...20Brochure.pdf
It states that the hoses have a working pressure of 225 PSI. So, can I use these in place of 30R9 lines? Will be upgrading my stock fuel pump to a 255 Walbro and figured I might as well replace the fuel lines while I'm at it.
Hijacking my own post: any suggestions for fuel line clamps?
Thanks in advance!
Re: SAE 30R9 versus SAE 30R14 Fuel Injection Lines
Hello and Welcome to our forum.
Our stock fuel system supplies 55psi at 0 psi boost. The fuel pressure raises the number of psi of maximum boost. For example, you car has a maximum boost of 15 psi so the maximum fuel pressure is 55 +15 = 70 psi so both should work fine. For 30R9 and 30R10, don't use the hardware store worm style clamps use proper fuel injection clamps here is a picture of a good clamp for reference, you can pick the size you need at your local auto parts store. I don't understand why a 225lbs 30R14 can't handle a mere 70psi, perhaps it is that "new math"...LOL

I don't know why something that should be simple is often made confusing.

I've always been told I was wise for my age, so by now I have the mind of about a 70 year old!! ;)
I already can't remember stuff. Not looking forward to things getting worse!

As long as one doesnt let it bother one's self it's not too bad!!
I guess I'm opposite of you, folks often tell me to act my age.
I normally manage to stay out of trouble, but when one is politically incorrect it's challenging.
EG: I'm the old dumbass wearing the MAGA hat, in Canada...
Thanks
