Never had a 2.4 but on my 3.0l the butterfly sticks in the bore if the idle screw is set too low. Maybe your idle screw is worn/misadjusted try turning it clockwise slighty.
Currently have that problem. Strange thing is that it comes and goes. It's very slight, but if it happens in traffic it's pretty annoying.
I find that use the adjustment screw and crack the throttle plate open just a little helps the throttle body unstuck.
Exactly. Maybe I wasn't clear in my post above but by "idle screw" I meant the throttle stop screw. There is a plug covering it. I use a wood screw to get the plug out. Use a hammer to get the wood screw to poke through the plug, then screw it in with a screwdriver until it pops out. You can then use a screwdriver to adjust the idle/throttle stop screw until the butterfly stops sticking.
Also, have you cleaned the TB lately? This helps in many cases.
I more concerned with a light throttle stutter/missing problem that the car has right now! I have noticed it is more apparent after the engine reaches operating temp!
On the misfire problem, a code FINALLY decided to set (P0301) What is puzzling me is, the misfire happens more so with little to no boost and at part throttle!
I did notice when I replaced the spark plugs not too long ago that there was some oil in the #1 spark plug galley. I wonder if the valve cover seal for the #1 plug leaking some oil might be a cause for a misfire? Hmmmmm!
