Any recommendations on a A413 rebuild kit? I found a bunch on rockauto, but they all say 30TH.

or should I use a 31TH rebuild kit???

In other news, I picked up a 1991 Spirit 2.5 TBI as a parts car. STUPID CHEAP (price of scrap). Runs and drives too. Might need to find a 2.4l car and make a swap happen. She might end up becoming a Lemons racing car once I get the VW and Spirit Turbo done.

I'm using parts to spruce up my Turbo interior and converting to manual windows for simplicity. Dupli-Color Vinyl & Fabric coating worked surprisingly well.
Went from blue to light gray.

Unfortunately, the Arduino LCD display project has hit a wall. The programming is challenging, but I do have some buddies with programming experience trying to figure it out. Crossing fingers...
PS: Gonna snap up a 31TH rebuild kit from RockAuto since the internals are the same :)
Does anyone know how to remove the brightwork around the windows? The parts-car pieces are in much better shape, and I’d like to transfer them over.
A lot of that trim is key hole mounted. Look for a screw at one end, remove and it should slide off the studs.
Time for another update :-)
The paint and rust was starting to bother me. I couldn't afford a brand new paint job, so I decided to go the Rustoleum route and spray in my garage. I made this my summer goal.

Not exactly the cleanest environment, but it worked out okay.
It's not perfect. I have 2 runs that I still need to wet sand. But overall, not bad for tractor paint.

That looks great. Nice work. I really liked the messages you wrote yourself.
looks fantastic . :)

That does look great Chris!
And white is the best color to hide some minor imperfections!
Mine really needs a repaint. I was always so happy mine was in nice shape. But when it finally started, it got bad quick!

Lots of fun little updates for the COVID Spirit :-)
I've been experimenting with running gauges on MPScan via laptop. I found a little Asus laptop and a CD slot mount from amazon. BUT the tablet needs to be mounted higher on the dash...still needs some development lol.

The local junkyard had a Chrysler TC! I grabbed the drivetrain and a few small things, including the steering wheel :-)

A lot of the old rubber under the old wrap was disintegrated. I filled the pits and cracks with this marine gel epoxy stuff. When hardened, it still have some "squishiness" which was nice.

Re-wrapped in black leather from amazon.

Not perfect, but feels good in the hands.

I slammed the car in park on a hill and heard a loud snap...turns out the passenger-side engine-mount bracket completely broke off...crazy
Prepped and re-attached with the MIG

forgot to take a picture of it installed
Before installing the new mounts, I did my famous "solid poly mount" mod.

Yup, the car definitely rattles more, but it's not too bad. I've also used Window Weld in the past, but I went with something a little softer.
Great update. Thanks for taking the time to post pics. It is looking very nice.
Between family festivities this past weekend, I found time to work on the Spirit a little more :-)
Living in upstate New York, my poor SRT4 intercooler took a BEATING. It was just mounted way too low due to the awkward inlet/outlets. I had to find a better solution.
https://i.imgur.com/bmnnUUS.jpg
Moving the intercooler up required me to enlarge some openings in the front clip. I got a little carried away and had to fill some holes where the cutoff wheel went a little too deep lol
https://i.imgur.com/R9zzEq8.png
I took some flat stock and made a bracket for the new intercooler.
https://i.imgur.com/IHDCJqd.jpg
I went with a Mishimoto intercooler I had purchased a couple of years ago for a different project. it did fit perfect though.

Since I already had the bumper off, I was able to install a transmission cooler too. I ended up shortening the vertical radiator support bracket (the middle black part thingy) to clear the intercooler too.

The top half of the inter cooler is blocked by the bumper. I need to repaint the front bumper cover anyways (the wildlife up here is insane). I'm thinking about cutting some speed holes for increased airflow. For now, the bumper cover is off until I fix the damage.
More updates coming soon :-)
And the Spirit now has an older sister lol. I continue to make poor decisions...

2.2 liters of carbureted fury...maybe a future turbo swap??? idk
Wow. That I car was no mistake. Congrats on the car, and thanks again for the updates. I’m impressed by your work on it. Keep it up.
So I have been in Jamestown NY for the last week. Everything more than 5-7 years old has holes in it from all the salt, and here you are finding 30+ year old fwd disposables that are not full holes :confused2:
