SRT4 into L body questions, Project GoldMember
Not an actual build/project blog as I haven't ever laid eyes on the car other grainy pics but heck, half the guys in the Wisconson area have seen the car and I've heard good things about it.
It's Gold, it's an 85 GLH-t, it has a low mileage SRT4 motor, 568 trans, Ex cam Dizzy, S60 SMEC harness (now it does, the original Megasquirt stuff has been pulled out), and Alcantera Suede Leather interior:eyebrows: It's in very capable hands in Monroe WI for the final 15% of the build the 2 PO's didn't get around to.
SO todays questions. We need an UNDER the core support Radiator of the thickest and highest capacity possible. I've heard Scirocco Radiators fit but I can't imagine they have much capacity? Not time left before SDAC for a Ron Davis or other custom. Anyone with an L have an idea on a good radiator? Part numbers are appreciated as well.:o
Need some high tension leads(heard that on Wheeler Dealers a couple years ago, had never heard it before;)) With the distributor up and on the cam, not sure if the lengths need to be longer or shorter than SRT plug wires and my builder is plenty busy with his day job and other progect issues so I told him I'd handle it. Is there a kit out there for the conversion? If one exists my hope is that they are black:eyebrows: Used to be an Aurora wire dealer here that would do customs but the last set I ordered took a year cause life got in the way for him, well either life or making 44,000 post to this site, not sure which.
I have a few low quality pics in my phone, I'll add them in a bit. I think there is even a 2.5 year old build thread on GoldMember but that seems so *dated* now to revive it so I'll just start fresh.

AJ,
Adam L. uses a AFCO Scirocco radiator in his Omni. I bought one too, but haven't installed it yet. The inlet and outlet are correct size (Ford/Mopar) also has options for left or right hand inlet/outlets and cap or no cap. They are a dual pass radiator, not sure if you knew that or not, so inlet/outlet will be on same side. Summit sells them. Adam has not had any issues with his, so that is why I bought one. Plenty of street miles to and from SDAC events for Adam. Todd

What is the plan for an inter cooler with a rad under the core support?
Re: SRT4 into L body questions, Project GoldMember
I hope i can make it, so i can check it out in person! Been looking forward to it!
Re: SRT4 into L body questions, Project GoldMember
Thx Todd, I mean TN:lol: We're looking at it.
Cordes, don't ask the hard questions, only the easy ones:p

Hey, there’s plenty of room under the hood of an L body...

Re: SRT4 into L body questions, Project GoldMember
I used a liquid intercooler and a scirocco rad from Afco.
Selll that S60 stuff and get the megasquirt stuff back. On top of all the datalogging and tuning advantages MS offers, you'll need the real estate where that distributor will be. Coil packs will take up no space.

So that's the secret to the Quick8 win?
You heard it here first folks...

Haha! There was a luck in that win.
There are a few things I would do differently in my build, and may improve over the next few years or as budget allows. Two things that I know I did right was have Brian do the major fab work, and go with aftermarket engine management.

Ive had some bad advice in my lifetime Mike, Ill just add your MS advice to that pile. AFCO is worthwhile tho,
ordered up this am.

Is it going to be AEM for you AJ? 8valves isn't too far away from where the car is; you could fly him over.

haha. Well even if you don't like MS, I'd still strongly advise any aftermarket engine management of your liking.
