Gee, imagine that! :p I've been suggesting that someone produce and market those plates for a while now. Glad to see you got it done!!
Where did you get the rotors?
Great looking van as always.

Thanks
Yeah after searching found them on EBAY

Had to send the Daytona rotor back because they sent me the wrong ones. Should have them by Sept 13.
Went to test the brakes today and was amazed on how they work. NO rear lock up. And she stops so fast that the transmission forgot to downshift.

Hehe yeh ive had that problem a lot in my auto cars. Usually the problem i have is that i think all the fluid sloshes to the front of the pan and the pump picks up an air bubble because the trans will be stuck in 'neutral' for a second or two after a hard stop.
One of the cool things about the van is that they basically come with an adjustment for the rear brakes in the form of the load-sensing valve that is in front of the left-rear leaf spring. But, if you dont have to adjust it, all the better!
Re: rear disk brake conversion 89 minivan
Nice job, your way is similiar to AJ's. Don't forget to adjust the rear level sensor, the rears need more brake pressure to work at their potential.
AJ's way-

The way I did mine-

Re: rear disk brake conversion 89 minivan
Those plates are slicker than snot!:thumb:
Did you have a local machine shop make those for you?
Will he do more?
How much did they set you back, or maybe I should say how much would YOU need to have him do some more?:eyebrows:

Re: rear disk brake conversion 89 minivan

Yeah got them made at a machine shop. cost me $140
Problem to making some more is I don't have the old spindles anymore and he would need to have the new ones too for the bolt pattern.

Re: rear disk brake conversion 89 minivan
Look in front of the left rear leaf spring and you'll see it. There's a rod coming off the leaf spring or axle (cant remember) that pushes on that valve, and its a slotted thing so theres some adjustment.. When the suspension compresses, whichever way that would push the rod is the way you need to adjust it to get more rear brake.

What Vigo said, its an 8mm nut. I maxed mine out, I could do with a bit more but I am happy enough not to redo my brake lines to add another prop valve etc.
Re: rear disk brake conversion 89 minivan
Didn't see any 8mm nut. Did see lots of rust and i don't think that it's working anymore because of the rust. Also didn't see any slotted thing. I have the Daytona proportional valve and was planing to replace the van's with it. The only thing i will need to replace all the lines because i don't think I will be able to loosen the nuts due to rust. And the lines are rusted up so it will be worth it.

Look in front of the drivers spring, you'll see a torpedo type thing, this is connected to the leveling sensor. If you replace the prop valve, it won't do much because this sensor blocks or allows more fluid to the rear brakes.
Re: rear disk brake conversion 89 minivan
I checked it out and found out that the valve doesn't move because it's seized.

So you have a couple choices, remove it and hope the prop valve works or install another one or install adjustable ones.
Re: rear disk brake conversion 89 minivan
I wanted to use the Dayton's prop valve but i just noticed that one of the bolt hole thread is bad. Completely stripped. Going to see the guy I got it from, I know he has another Daytona but don't remember if it had rear disk. Then I can get rid of the rear prop valve on the van and will have new lines in.
Re: rear disk brake conversion 89 minivan
Great job! As mentioned, those adapters are sweet. :thumb: I like that you also put in the thought of lowering the rear with the drop spindle adapters. WTG!
How much is the front lowered by? What method did you use up front?

I lowered using the DAytona coils and struts.
Don't remember how much it lowered but you can see in this pics the difference.
