Can Alky/h20 affect Wb reading
i having some weird Wb reading under hard boost ie. running lean and i only started this after i brought my alky system on line 2 weeks ago . i have been chasing fuel pressures/ modifying my cal and nothing seem to help . I was going to turn off the alky but right now i have a full tank of 91 in her and the rain has started and for the sake of safey i not testing it . Dick (boostgeek) was seeing the same thing but the car is currently on the back burner
Has anyone seen this and have any ideas?
also current mix is 50/50 and the system is progressive on at 7 and full at 18

Yes, alky can alter the readings, not sure how much, but pretty sure Mario posted up on one of my threads the difference. Google it too.

Alhohol is an oxygenated fuel (CH3OH), it will for sure affect the WB readings. The difference is, stoich for methanol is like 7.5:1. So, if you're running a mix, the ideal A/F is no longer the same. It will be much lower (richer).

hmmmm i have gone from 11.9 to 14.9 at 20psi
i got no problem going to 100 methnol if needed
I just feel im missing something

Something isn't right, all else equal it should read richer than you were on gasoline.

is it possible that is some how affecting my Air charge temp sensor , but again it sound be riching it up the colder the charge????
i really want to get this sorted out so i can bring the nitrous system on line

Sure the wideband is reading correctly?
What's your exact fuel setup?
Are you sure its not really lean? When I put my 4" intake system on, it leaned out big time.

yes the wide band is working and cal'd correct
yes my fuel system is ok and more than up to the task
yes the cal is ok
it only goes lean when the alky is turned on like i said weird sh!t when it should be getting richer

I've run 50/50m that's a year old with no issues.
Sure the system isn't backfeeding or messing up the MAP sensor?

Ding Ding Ding i think we have a winner
i was fooling around the map sensor checking my map signals to the devils own processor and i found a crimp that had hi resitance
i will fix it tomorrow at work and report back

Thats good!
The mix should stay good as long as you have it sealed off from moisture.

I was bugging as its mixed already so keeping it away from moisture-see the irony? :eyebrows:
Anyhow, I've read tons of ways, glass containers, plastic bottles-think gas line antifreeze, plastic container with a pinhole to let it vent, freezer, fridge. Pick your poison I guess.

Won't go bad but if you didn't have it sealed up it can suck water out the atmosphere and get weaker.... how long depends on how open the container, how much damp atmosphere in the locality etc etc.
