Registered, and hotel booked...
But unless a miracle happens in the next 4 weeks, looks like I'm bringing the Daytona this year. I just don't think I have enough time to finish the Scamp...

That's too bad, i was looking forward to checking out your upgrade.
But i know how it goes.
I'm stressing too, knowing I'm not going to get through my to-do list.

Sorry to hear that, but happy you're still planning on going.
I don't feel that finishing a project like that in a thrash to get to an impending event is ever a good idea anyway. Invariably, you end up making compromises that you end up regretting.

Yeah, kind of what I'm thinking as well. The Scamp will be a riot once finished, but I certainly don't want to half-@ss something and wind up stranded on the side of the road. Good news is, SDAC is only about 3 hours from my place this year...
The Daytona is definitely a great alternative. It is more comfortable on a long drive than the Scamp, and if it's hot, it does have A/C...:)

Wish I could attend. I always enjoy the cars and the people. Maybe the next one!
Re: Official SDAC-27 Discussion Thread
Matchbox is halfway through a oil cooler install....rewired all the gauges with color coded wires, just need to stick in a cigarette lighter for my garmin and put in my new cheap radio. I will be there Sunday sometime.

I was supposed to close on a house a week ago, but my lender is dragging there feet. Until that happens it's up in the air how long I'll be there if at all.

Aww man. Road tripping to the event is a big part of the fun. You should try it sometime.

It's way too far so I'm waiting for it to be held closer. Like many of the SDACers I have a 4.16hr travel radius maximum before complaining ensues.

Yeah, a 29 hour road trip would be a little much, even for me.... :p
Re: Official SDAC-27 Discussion Thread
Change oil. Add fuel.
----- later about the other stuff I should have done.

Welding up a mount to secure the pit bike on the trailer. Have a plan together for that. Also have to make a mount for a winch I hope to never have to use.
Finish up the boost controller install on the race car, get the SD-card data logger working, shift light, get some road tuning miles on it, window bushings, replace a door handle, install new 5-point harness.
What's everybody else got left to do?
Lots of clean up and other odds and ends. It's more like, what don't I have to do?

Dusty Duster was kicking around the idea of driving out to the event a couple of years ago. He lived in the host city...

I think that might have been Jon Trotter's 3rd favorite SDAC memory.
