Dcal style bin and table in MPtune
Is there a way to load an old Dcal style bin and table file in MPtune? I have an old Paul V cal in my car, which was a great 2.5L G-head tune. But it was MTX and the car is now ATX.
I just hooked up an ostrich, and loaded the Turbonator 2.5 G head cal. So I'm running. I'd just love to compare the pumping efficiency and injector maps to what ran so well off the Paul V cal.
When I try to open the bin file I get a warning that the table file isn't OK.
Any ideas?

I don't really know, but have some thoughts.
How old is that cal? Do you know if it was a stock cal that was tweaked?
If you know what cal it was based from, try having that table file in the same folder (you might need to rename with the same bin filename?)
What are the general specs of your combo?
I am looking for a better start on some 2 5 G-head timing tables for SMEC. The tables are a bit different from LM and SMEC T1
Maybe wowzer can chime in with some thoughts if he sees this.
I thought there was a feature in mptune to update older cal files. But it probably only works if it can open the cal file.

2.5L ~7.5:1 comp, Mopar mild +1mm G head, +40s, 3-bar, big turbo, MTX on the old cal. Probably done in 2007?
If if anyone wants to look at the files I can email them.

Which ecu style is it?
And the vehicle?
Maybe we can file a table file, if we are lucky.

It's a SMEC in a 1986 Shelby Charger. Car has a S60 harness in it.

Thanks Wowzer, I sent a .zip file of the old cals.

Re: Dcal style bin and table in MPtune
So one of the things I've noticed about the PaulV cal was how smooth it was. I went back to CheM to start sorting out what changes were made, and what I might be able to emulate in MPTune.
Here's the Pumping Efficiency table, stock 87 T2 to PaulV cal (3bar-52pph-.5L-Ghead-MTX):
It's clear Paul added points to smooth this table. Was this standard back in the day? It does look like this was the table that scaled for different injectors.
