I already have cat, resonator, with a straight thru muffler then a chamber muffler. Still too loud.

Also tried two straight thru muffler, loud.
I have a offset straight through style ultraflo that was super quiet, maybe that with another muffler in series will be quiet enough for you
Swap the chamber muffler for a turbo muffler.
I think this has to do with car length as well. The omni's seem loud no matter what you throw at them.
Straight thru bullet type mufflers are loud. Need the ones with the big oval can like dynomax race magnum (pic below) with more volume of glass fiber to absorb noise. night and day difference.

Convert it to electric like this guy did to his 1987 & 1988 Dodge Daytonas.

If the goal is just to reduce the perceived "noise" in the cabin, a number of car makers have employed "noise cancelling" by way of speakers under the dash that are out of phase with the objectionable tones.
I've imagined using a BOSE noise canceling headset as the basis for such a device. The problem would be making it selective, as it would seek to cancel the sound input from the microphone, which would include voice and music, etc.
Another more "mechanical" way to go may be to break up the single 3" tube to two equivalent (area) tubes. The large diameter tubes allow sound to propagate much easier...
Two 2 1/8" pipes have the same flow area, so the restriction should be minor, but will restrict the noise. Also, there are dual in/out mufflers that would help with installation.
I'd still use two, one where the cat/resonator would be and the other out back, with tips clearing the bumper a bit.
Best of Luck!

I assume you don't have the exhaust touching the crossmember nor any part of the tunnel. I had that once and the drone was terrible! I make sure that there is plenty of daylight around the pipe in that area.
As mentioned previously it is also very important for the tailpipe to actually clear the back of the vehicle.
My PT was practically unbearable before i extended the tailpipe just a few extra inches.
So those extra inches do matter...
Interesting! I have the omni muffler terminating at about mid bumper. Perhaps it should be further? To past the bumper?
I run my 3.0 Holset with nothing but 3" pipe, and it extends past the bumper a few inches so the sound doesn't bother me in the car (drone). Its only difficult to have a quiet conversation but never bothersome.
How do we talk about silent plus straight through mufflers with a straight face? Needs to be something like what JT posted. Something with a lot of packing material. My old 3" ultraflow that had the 4" inner pipe seems like it causes noise...
I was in AJ's woody wagon yesterday, it is world's quieter than my Omni. Might just have to go with a 2.5 inch muffler.

What muffler is on the wagon?
no one checked into this more?
it actually works from what ive seen on the net.

it will take some math and some calculating but it should work.

of course, for a 4 cyl the pipe should be 2x as long as a v8 from what i read.
im gonna try it. id like to remove all my mufflers and see how bad it would be
ill put it as far to the rear of the vehicle as possible.
for those with side pipes, you could use the rest of a regular exhaust in the normal exhaust location capped off teed into the side pipe.
this seems to be only solution to drone that doesnt reduce power.
Tryingbe, is your car a automatic or a 5 Speed?
