Replace o2 in a T-II L Body advice please.
After wiring in my new heated o2 I then decided to try and install it.
Naturally the old one had to be removed but I wasn't concerned.
I had it out when the Engine was on the bench before installing it.
After jacking up the car I realized there is no way to get it from below.
Now I'm looking for suggestions on how anyone has removed one.
I'm still working 1 handed with a diminished brain and I'm stumped.
Any input gratefully appreciated!
Thanks
Randy
Re: Replace o2 in a T-II L Body advice please.
If the old one is already out, you should be able to install the new one from below. Just put it in there and tighten it down with a wrench. I use a stubby wrench and it works just fine.
Re: Replace o2 in a T-II L Body advice please.
The old one is still in but probably not frozen as it was out recently.
There isn't any room in an L body to even get a stubby wrench or o2 socket.
K based cars have much more room in that area.
I'm hoping for L body advice!!
Thanks
Randy

I have done it many times in an L body too.

ETA I thought I was hot stuff when I bought an o2 sensor socket and used that instead.

I have a TII swap on my Omni. I never installed a power steering pump or bracket, and you can just reach in and get to the O2 with no issue. So if you can not come up with any other option, might try removing the PS pump to get to the O2.

This is what I have been dreading but probably removing the PS may be the way to go.
I can't seem to get it from below at all.
Thanks !!

Removing the pass. Side axle and intermediate should give you enough room to get to it from underneath.

I sure appreciate you taking the time to post with a picture James!!
It was tough to do but moving the PS pump was the answer.
Had to unhook the fuel lines and some wiring to get in there.
Got a bit more tidying up to do but the heated o2 is in.
Looking forward to having him mobile again!
Thanks

Glad it helped!
Re: Replace o2 in a T-II L Body advice please.
Thanks Guys!
It was sure tough to remove considering I had it out recently.
Maybe coating the threads with never seize wasn't a good idea.
It took all my strength with an 18" breaker to bust it loose!!
Couldn't have done it without James' help and picture!!
Being old, weak and dumb sure has its challenges.
Thanks
Randy

Glad to hear you got it out. They can be a bear to remove no matter the mileage on them.
