Great
understanding the need for a break at your end and I'm in absolutely nooo rush but it looks like my finances are in good enough order these days to say pencil me in for the next batch
- whenever that is
so 2 interested parties confirmed - one without immediate need (prob for a year or so)
Funny, I have not made mine yet. I hope to ready to make a few more in the May timeframe
well
it's probably not a bad thing to have your's put together by a MPSciLink professional
rather than the new guy
UPDATE: I have received the boards to manufacture the SBEC/SBECII mpscilink flash patch.
I still need to order the other components, but at least we are making progress slowly. I am seriously stretched thin, but we have not forgotten about this.
Again, this patch is ONLY for those with Flashable SBEC / SBECII ecu's. Attachment 63900
Just successfully logged SBEC through this adapter.
Tried to read the SBEC bin, but it was failing. Looks to possibly be bootstrap timing. Morris is going to look at some things and see if we can make a programing tweak to test.
Stay tuned...
Successfully flashed my flashable SBEC with mpscilink and the SCI-SBEC flash adapter! Was also able to Read the bin. Also, successfully flashed and read using mpscandroid to the SBEC!
So the adapters work as designed, protecting the MPSciLink device from the 12v backfeeding and damaging the unit.
I need to test some conformal coating, and curing the coating, and seeing how many coats it needs. Then I can ramp up assembling them so we can get them out to you SBEC customers.

Thanks Wayne,
Great work. +1

This is fantastic news, looking forward to getting this working on my car and stop using the flash cable!
Just tested another software adjustment, and better success for reading and flashing the SBEC!
The bootstrap process is still manual operation for these tests.

Conformal coating applied and cured with a heat gun.
I hope to be able to get 2 out Thursday before work, one of these is my tester. I've got others i started assembling and will have to coat tomorrow at work.
Looking good!
What are you using as the coating?
Ah a good old Canadian product!
Folks, those of you with flashable SBEC 's, please message me so I can have a list of those who need on of these adapter boards.
I do have a record of those that identified SBEC on the order, but just looking to double check. Those with flashable SBEC will get delivery priority.
I have 6 more nearly ready, just need to clean a bit more and do the coating.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d45b4be3d2.jpg
I am definitely interested in purchasing one as I will have a flashable SBEC soon I hope (provided the board on the one I want to use isn't FUBARed).
Got these 6 coated.
To anyone that has eaten Tide Pods, these are not candy.

SCI-SBEC adapter board update! (For SBEC users)
I have been conferring with Miles and Morris on the adapters, for the software changes to mpscandroid, and mpscilink, as well as the best installation practice.
Due to the requirement of a +12v source for the bootstrap, we are going to recommend repurposing the black wire in the 4 conductor harness to be used for this.
The mpscilink ground terminal therefore will need a wire to a good chassis ground such as something under the dash, with the shortest run of wire, and we recommend 18AWG.
The picture is of a customer's board with the black wire moved to the correct slot in the housing for "12v flash".
I will test this prior to shipment to be sure everything is working.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...37c2a519ad.jpg
