Knowledge Center Update - Brainstorm Thread
OK folks, I'm really, really, really hoping we can get this site handed off and updated soon and thinking ahead, would like to get a solid strategy for the best way to document/archive everything. I am making this thread to be a working thread to plan the best format for our future. Appreciate your thoughts and examples of what works in other forum structures. If you know if a new version on VBulletin has features that help this - let's hear about them.
Knowledge center
=> current KC is OK
=> Is there a better format?
=> It is missing many of the old articles that never got transferred from (this is open item with Frank to find out where they are)
=> DodgeZ has archived BoostedMopar tech and offered to merge with T-M KC one we get it updated
Cal repository
=> Is what we have working?
=> any better method?
Turbonator Wiki and other tech info
=> Thoughts on best way to integrate?
Thank you in advance for your input, this is a team effort and your thoughts and help are appreciated!
Re: Knowledge Center Update - Brainstorm Thread
speaking as one who's only ever used "canned tunes" I'd say a tuning - learning tutorial / history / past & current methods
sub-section would be a great help
it's really THE only thing missing around here...
- edit
this post took about 3 min to go up
lately ,the past couple of weeks, and just now coming back to add this I've been having an issue with this site being slow to load or I simply get a "resource limit reached " message
- not happening with any other sites I use

i had reached out via PM some time back about allowing changes to be made to the cal info that Rob L had posted up. there are a couple bugs/changes that need to be made to the T-Cals so others don't have to experience them. Doesn't necessarily need to be me but someone needs to be able to mod that stuff timely.

I now have the capability to voice over my computer screen. I'll look into doing a how to video that would get most people up and running.
Re: Knowledge Center Update - Brainstorm Thread
thanks for the consideration of that !!
Re: Knowledge Center Update - Brainstorm Thread
KC stuff.
gather EVERYTHING that you can and find a way to import it into some sort of system, even if it isnt pretty.
ugly and present is better than pretty and half finished.
talk to seth buchbinder about getting his dads DIY trans info as well.
and all the boostbutton stuff if rob m is cool with it.

Re: Knowledge Center Update - Brainstorm Thread
I would add that being easily searchable is key too. There was way too much stuff hidden in the old one, although that could be due to how it was configured and layered with the old vs. new stuff.
Re: Knowledge Center Update - Brainstorm Thread
Long live the forum model!
I would add a front end website for the additional content. Wordpress. Then link through to the forum.
Wordpress will be more configurable for archive data, articles, and news. Then keep conversations in the forum software.
Have lots of thoughts over a beer sometime JT. And willing to help.

Good thoughts. Any ideas what forums work best on phones?

Nope. He always says that he will email you but he is concerned that "I don't know how they are going to do this without my help"
At this point I would start over.
New PayPal, new everything.
Scrape together whatever you can.

Not ideal but I use
searchWords site:www.turbo-mopar.com into the google search bar and it quite good at finding what I need.
For the readers not familiar with this feature...let's say we want to find "awesome brakes" on the forum.
