What are good struts and springs for a street car?
Come spring im looking to do some suspenion work on my 85 SC, the car gets driven ALOT and its mostly street driven with the occational trip to the track and auto-cross, as far as a know its all currently stock, im looking for good struts and springs to replace the stock stuff. and maybe lower it like and 1 or 1.5 inches, the way is sits now the front sits a little bit higher then the rear and looks kinda goofy. just want something that will handle well and not bounce my teeth out (the roads in NY kinda suck) any suggestions?

Agreed, pay it once and be done with it.

its hard to find a compromise between tight handling and not teeth rattling. the BCs will handle great but be pretty stiff. Stiff sidewalls on the tires does wonders if your coming from a tire that likes to flex.

i was actually looking for like an eibach, more of a agressive stock spring, and prolly like a set of just monroe struts, some other things i want do before i shell out that loot at this moment. i was thinking to restore the ride and handling to a little better then stock and but some rota 15s on it. and what kind of back spacing on a 85 charger?

There's plenty of threads here with people using Neon struts with ghetto coilovers on L bodies.
Little extra fabrication but it's worth it since theres all kinds of performance suspensions available still.

You also want to check your AutoX rules to see where you would be with coil-overs on your car. It might throw you into a class for which you would be completely uncompetitive.

I've ridden in Steve M's neon ACR and it rides smoother than my car with stock struts and Mopar Performance coils. And he has a really high spring rate. The big difference is that the dampers are well matched to the springs. That has a huge affect on ride quality.

I'd vote for stock strut housings, modified to fit Koni inserts, which IMO are not fairly affordable.
